Pros:Trailers were Great
Cons:TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!
The Bottom Line: Please dont waste your money. This film is just rediculous!

I rented this movie with the hopes of it being a scary movie. Boy was I wrong! I think M. Night Shamalon was smoking somthing terrible when he wrote this movie.
I was really dissapointed with this one.

The movie is about a lonely maintenance man, living at an apartment complex. A lady comes out of his pool, and he takes her in. She looks about 25, but is supposed to be a child. She tells him shes a "Narf" ???

Anyways he asks the oriental resident what a narf is and she explains its a water person from the "Blue World"

The narfs' purpose is to make eye contact with a writer to inspire him.

So the maintenance man goes around to all the residents to find this writer.

Anyways she cant get home because of some grass covered creature comming after her.

The man keeps going back to the oriental lady to get info on the story , and its something to do with an eagle supposed to take the girl back home, and the creature comes after her... blah blah blah...

Also there is a group of people supposed to help her, the guardian, the interpreter, the guild, and the healer. These people dont know it, and the girl doesnt know who they are either.

So the maintenence man goes around to all the different residents of the bulding trying to figure it out. This is when the story starts to get rediculous.

Who in their right mind would believe there is a chick in the water, that an eagle is supposed to rescue her from a creature with grass fur? And they could possibly be these fantasy people who are meant to help her? Yet they all agree to assist. They all seem super eager to help, as if they have no other lives.

Anyway, they plan a party, and everyone has agreed to help her, however, it doesnt work.... the maintenence man had all the people figured out wrong.

So they re-configure the people out, the eagle comes, and shes off.

Pretty stupid if you ask me. I am so glad i did not pay to see this in the theater. The trailers looked awsome, but M. Night, I think you hit your plateau with the Sixth Sence. You need to give it up, and quit now before you disgrace yourself any further. I understand this is fantasy, but it seems very realistic in the beginning, but adding all the fantasy crap into it, was just too over the top. The main character actually believes all the fantsy stuff and the stories, (from the oriental) To the point he spends all his time at work observing people to fit the bill of the helpers... Ie- guardian, healer, etc.

All in all, I hated this film, and will not be returning for any more of M. Nights work.

Recommended: No

Movie Mood: None of the Above
