. . .when I wish that I still had the MOST HELPFUL option in my ratings choices!

Let me take this time to wish you a very happy belated birthday--as your birthday is one that's impossible for me to forget!!! And an even more belated (but still heartfelt) birthday wish to your daughter!!!

Hugs!

Thanks Kath for so eloquently reminding us Moms of that great joy and privilege we've been blessed to have. As I watched my daughter (31) struggle for eight years to have a child, when it came so easily to me, I realized that what I took for granted was truly a miracle.

I can remember the day my 1st was born too... Let's see... hopping down the hall following them wheeling my wife out of the room, trying to get those stupid footies on over my shoes... oh yeah, and knocking the tray off the I.V. cart in the room because there were more people in the room than a Detroit Tigers game... What a help I was that day!

You make me want to be a mother myself. I've been trying to get pregnant for several years, but it never seems to work out. I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong.

I see you were a young mother. I guess that helped you when you were engaging in kid-play.

Thanks for rating some of my reviews.

I feel very lucky as well. Having my girls is so fantastic...we do all the 'girlie' things together. My youngest, 20 year old son, is right this moment driving back here from California. He's only been gone a year, but I have missed him so much. There is a special connection between a mother and her sons that is for sure.

Thanks for stopping by and the wonderful comment too.........kath

I couldn't imagine my life without my sons, my youngest turned 20 this November 26th...Your daughter is so lucky to have you, never got the experience of having a daughter but now have two beautiful daughter-in-laws and now a granddaughter. Life has been very good to me.

Thank you so much Barbara. I think being a mother is what I was 'called' to do, and there are lots of beautiful women (like you) that have that same calling.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family...kath

Oh I believe that it is a human life from the minute of conception...but I didn't feel as much like a Mother until I knew that she was coming...it was such a wonderful and scary feeling. To actually know that I would be holding another human life in my arms...and be her Mom..WOW. Awesome!!

Thanks for reading/rating and of course the comment too...I love comments :) ........kath

I always thought of pregnancy as the beginning of motherhood, don't you? I've never had the honor, but that would be my way of thinking. Very sweet piece, though! Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh Susie, I know it must be so hard for you. I dealt with having my daughter and 2 grands away from me for 12 years, and I hated it! I'm so sorry that you are hurting. :(

Thank you for reading and rating, I know that it must have been very difficult. God Bless....kath

The tears are rolling down my face. I know I chose to live in America, but when my daughter decided not to come too, it broke my heart.

I go to England once a year to see my Dad, daughter, son-in-law, and my 4 year old Grandbaby.

Loved reading this piece, but it almost broke my heart.

Susie.

I know how exciting it is to get together with them, especially when you haven't seen them in a while.

Kim lived here in Wisconsin...with us in California for almost 12 years. It was so hard only seeing each other every few years. I hated it...so we moved here, and brought the other adult kids with us!!

Thanks for stopping by Jo...kath

Kath~ How well I can remember feeling exactly as you did the day I became a mother! Wasn't it the best feeling in the world?

You're a great lady, mother, and friend. Those 5 children are very fortunate!
