I placed an order for a book from Alibris on November 23, and the money was charged to my credit card that day. They sent me an email stating my book should arrive by December 7. It was supposedly shipped out the next day, but after two weeks I still had not received it. Since I could not find a telephone number for them, I emailed and inquired as to the status. Two days later, I received an email saying they were sorry for the delay, but that sometimes USPS has problems and I would have to wait a full 30 days after the ship date before I could request a refund or shipment of another book. I wrote back and said I'd purchased this for a birthday gift and 30 days would be too late. Do they care? NO! I asked them to cancel my order since I was going to have to purchase the book elsewhere to have it in time for the birthday. They wrote back and informed me they would do no such thing. They claimed they'd shipped the order and I would just have to wait to receive it. I then asked if I could return the book if and when it ever arrived and was told that yes, I could, but I would not receive a full refund unless the the item was misdescribed. A company with integrity would offer more than this. I waited the full 30 days and emailed them again. Only had to wait one day for an email response this time. They say they will refund my money and that I should check with my local post office to "inquire about any known delivery problems." Later that day, I received another email from them with the subject line, "Refund Processed." However, the body of the email was different - it stated that a refund WOULD BE processed. Towards the bottom it states, "Please allow up to two weeks for this refund to appear on your credit card account."
