The Bottom Line BJ's Wholesale Club is one of the best warehouse type stores out there with high-quality products at great prices.

We have a Costco store only ten minutes away from us, yet we have always chosen to make the half-hour drive to the nearest BJ's Wholesale Club.
I save a lot of money on my grocery bills by making the majority of my food purchases at BJ's Wholesale Club. They have the usual warehouse-sized items available at pretty much the same price as most warehouse clubs. I figured it out once and I am getting about twice as much of something for about two-thirds of the price. For example: Skippy Peanut Butter - I'll get two 40 ounce jars for $6. One jar would typically cost $4 at the supermarket.
What makes BJ's Wholesale Club even better pricewise is that I can use manufacturer's coupons. In the above example of the peanut butter, I can use two coupons. Any packages that are packaged more than one are like this. Vegetables that come in packages of six cans count as six individual items. I can use two coupons that are good for cents-off on 3 cans, or six coupons that are good for cents-off on individual cans.
This is great on my Pampers Diapers. They come with two jumbo packs to a box which means I can use two coupons on them. The one box I bought on our last trip ended up costing me about $20.
I have found the quality at BJ's Wholesale Club to be great. Their frozen food selections include frozen boneless chicken breasts from the likes of Tyson. We use these quite often in our cooking. A package that costs about $10 will generally last my family (4 adults, 2 children & 1 baby) through 3 meals. The prepared frozen foods are excellent as well. Their Italian foods such as eggplant parmagiana are Michael Angelo brand. I haven't found that in out local supermarkets, and these are delicious products. They carry Jimmy Dean, Marie Callender, and Barber Food prepared items all of which are delicious.
I was in charge of the food for our most recent church picnic, and I came here to buy the goods. I purchased packages of 15 1/3 pound beef patties for $8.99 and everyone loved them and were surprised by the excellent quality of the meat. They carry Sabrett hot-dogs which are very high-quality hot dogs. I spent $78 total on the picnic and everyone praised the food.
We buy a lot of baked goods from BJ's Wholesale Club as well. I usually get my children's birthday cakes from them. They have done a wonderful job decorating the cakes and they were always delicious and reasonably priced. I get the most delicious frosted sugar cookies from BJ's Wholesale Club as well. They are one of my big weaknesses!
The quality of the fresh meats from here is great as well. They have Perdue fresh chickens and chicken parts. I get two oven-stuffer roasters for almost the price of one in the supermarket. One of my favorite things to make is stew and the stew meat packages are enough for two batches and cook up excellent. When I want a treat, there are Angus beef steaks that are more than the regular steaks, but are a treat!
The cold-cuts tend to run about the price of what the sales are at the deli. For me, the convenience of not having to head to the deli to check what's on sale every week is worth buying the pre-packaged cold-cuts.
I have bought many of my home appliances from BJ's Wholesale Club. Just recently, I purchased a new handmixer for $18 that is better than the $50 mixer my husband bought. They have a huge selection of books as well. I have found just-out books by Stephen King in hardback for about $10 off of the bookstore price. I buy my children's school supplies primarily here as well.
The one drawback is the here-today, gone-tomorrow feeling of the products. I have to plan well in advance to buy what I will need as there are many times when I go looking for something I bought at BJ's Wholesale Club previously and it's not there. This last visit, I was looking for Honey Bunches of Oats cereal and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, both of which they were out of. Usually it turns up again by my next visit, but there have been times that products completely disappear from their selection.
