An OK drive.

Ease of Use:
Pros:Long-lasting.
Cons:Slow to read some discs, slow DAE, slight beeping noise through speakers reading slow discs.
The Bottom Line: It's a very reliable drive, with minor shortcomings. A great drive for business, but if you're into games, look elsewhere (Creative Labs, Asus, or Kenwood)
I've had a couple of Aopen CD-ROM drives, and I've installed many more at my job. I've found them to be extremely reliable, lasting years, especially when compared to most other high-speed drives.
I've had my 936 36X MTRP drive since December 1999, and it's worked fine throughout that time. However, these drives aren't perfect. The drive is slow at reading most CDR and CD-RW discs, and even some factory CDs, but it always gets the job done. On discs that read slowly in the drive, a slight beeping sound can be heard through the speakers, for some reason. It's annoying if you have your speakers turned up loud and there are no other sounds playing at the time.
