I've already played with a few of the Athlon 1 GHz laptops... HP has had one for a month now and Compaq as well. Currently wasn't impressed by them as they are now.
Waiting for the PIII-M processors to hit the market soon... I'd love to see how these chips perform.

IBM's new laptops. They've introduced some Athlon 1 GHz systems with 14.1 inch screens and 128 mb of ram for $1499. All the necessary additions could save you $1000 by upgrading...
