hi minx! (Reply to this comment)

hi,
dan from carmel...i mean jefhatfield
i love the chauffer thing concerning the driver issue...i will use it with my computer repair clients who go nuts when that driver thing hits them
dell is a good machine and the 8100 is an award winner
all you have to do with the driver is reinstall it from CD or the internet, or if you feel really geeky, write your own driver for it...but don't ask me how to do that (my hacker friends know those tricks)
wow, you have written a lot of reviews and you have a great trust list, you must be a writer

Mr S,
Since you contribute sporadically, I have to admit that I'll have to go back and see just exactly what the "H" you're talking about ;)
One thing leapt to mind...did it belong on WrittenByMe instead of here? Hmm... Entertaining as your massive contribs are, sometimes I am overwhelmed with bad, evil troll thoughts, and think that the division that occurred when people defected (defecated?) over to WBM was a good thing.
Sorry if you were worked up about it. I heartily endorse anyone giving an "H" or even Unhelpful to this, or any of my scribblings. It would depress me to think that people rubberstamp their friends. I wonder if you'll see this response, since it's probably not worth putting in your 100+ replies...
Take heart- you have plenty of VH'rs. My opinion flows away with the tide...
Actual Comment on Dell Piece: my $150 refund took a full twelve weeks to arrive. It was dated a month before it was mailed, and was dated as only good to cash for three weeks after I received it. Woe to me if I had been on vacation. Raise your hands if you don't think refund checks should have an EXPIRATION date on them! Or at least put a reasonable one...even three months! (FROWN!!)

I apologize for the "H," but... (Reply to this comment)

...Despite my acceptance of the fact that I will forever be under the spell of your intoxicating and beguiling femininity, in the absence of any Minx-proffered explanation for your ever-unduly and unjustifiably harsh grading of my reviews, I deem that this is your subtle manner of requesting that I adopt your own insurmountably oppressive grading standards; standards which enable me to render an obviously "VH"-worthy review like this one, a grade wholly unrepresentative of its obvious merits and superior quality.
Hey, wait-a-sec! That goes completely against my nature! On second thought, oh yeah, I already gave this piece the "VH" it deserves... but then, of course, you knew I would do that already. Why am I such a mark?
Nonetheless, Minx-honey, I request out of the goodness of your heart, that you provide some brief explanation as to why, i.e., assuming your trend of "H"-ing my last three reviews (all 3 of which, by my objective estimation, were easily worthy of "Most Helpfuls,") continues unabated, you have provided my next review an "H," and what, pray tell, must I do to improve its feeble quality.
Thank You In Advance, Bewitching-One,
Your 29th_Thrall

Hi DNCS,
It's not a money issue...just a lack of time and interest in digging around to find a topic. I couldn't face myself in the mirror if I wrote another review of a dehumidifier or kid toy ;) We're headed off on a cruise soon, so I'm hoping I can disgorge something for the travel section and the restaurant area, and maybe even a hotel item...
Hope Springs Eternal...
I appreciate you still looking to see if I've been around lately ;)

Hey--glad to see a review from you again. If you're like me, when money runs out and I can't purchase anything, that usually inhibits my reviewing power. And bad wine and beer don't count as reviewable items.
Good computer review. I'm currently trying to take over the world and make everyone use MACs, but until then I will allow you other humans to use PCs. :)

"Norton Utilities 2000 does not work..." (Reply to this comment)
by mkp51
...but Norton SystemWorks 2001 does, and very well, I might add. You might want to consider an upgrade.
This is a very nice review. I almost bought a Dell last spring, but I opted for my new Compaq based solely on price and the ol' "bang for the buck" factor. I hope you get to feel more comfortable with your machine. They're really not all that intimidating.
It's great to see you back writing for Epinions. Hope to read many more of your always well written, very entertaining opinions.
