Santa delivered the L-Max to our five-year-old on Christmas morning. Since then, he has played the game almost constantly. So much so that we had to purchase the recharging system because he was using a full set of batteries each day.
Santa got this for him because he'd outgrown his Leap Pad. In fact, his two-year-old brother had pretty much taken ownership of the Leap Pad.
What we love about this product is that it occupies our son for car trips and during boring times when he's stuck inside in the rain.
I like the fact that the system comes with a cover for the screen to protect it...a necessity when you have a two-year-old around who might get the game in his hands.
What we hate is the quality of the image on the TV screen when connected. It looks like an old Atari game. Our son tried it out and decided he'd rather just use the screen on the Leapster L-Max instead of connecting it to the TV. Santa paid a little more for the L-Max, and the only benefit is that our son can play the L-Max games in addition to the Leapster games. Oh well.
