Epinions.com is like an @##$%^&

Dec 11 '02

The Bottom Line The only thing I have to add at this point is my farewell soliloquy. It is in draft form and will be forthcoming.

Everyone has one! It's my opinion. I write what I want when I write a review. My opinion counts whether I write it well or not. The amount of money I could earn, is probably far more than my writings are worth and yet I still don't like the way epinions.com manages itself.

New product updates in the bowling category are basically non-existent. The last update was April of this year and it didn't include a NEW bowling ball. The information afforded the consumer is out dated and mostly useless. So why am even writing at all. My understanding of what epinions.com started out to be was a consumers guide to products written by consumers for consumers.

Now, because it's been more than a year since anyone has really payed attention to the bowling category, it is my opinion, epinions.com is ignoring an important part of my life and not giving the consumers, who visit, information needed to make smart purchases.

What's the matter, not enough people reading about bowling products? No bowling companies willing to spend their money to advertise on this sight? Update the category and see if more can be done with just a little effort!

The game of bowling is the strongest it has been in the last two decades, technology has exceeded our skill level in this sport just like it has in golf. Golf doesn't get short changed on new products to review, video games get updated regularly and so do categories related to personal appearance. Not bowling! God forbid someone might actually want NEW information on a NEW bowling ball.

I have to sneak new equipment through the cracks in order to tell consumers what I think! That sucks. I always been opposed to the reviewer who writes what ever they want in any category they want just to get read. Do it for the money not joy of writing for people who need information? I have never cheated the system for the sake of the dollar. Lord knows it takes about a million reads to get the buck so who really cares about the money.

I just want to write about NEW bowling Balls! Why can't I? How come others here at epionions.com promise to help get this done when all it really is, is just lip service? I don't care if Revlon has a new lip gloss to help protect your lips while skiing, using golf clubs as ski poles and wearing the brand new digital interactive CD player with the $250.00 head phone set while staying over night at a Holiday Inn Express making you the brightest epinionator to write a review in this millennium! I just want to write about NEW bowling Balls! Can anyone really help me? Does anyone really care? Should I just delete all my work and cash out?

I am one of the original reviewers here at epinions and I have seen many changes. I've excepted them and continue to read, rate and write. Not everyday like I once did but I'm never to far from my key board. Longevity stands for something but apparently not enough to salvage the bowling category.

If anyone reads this and agrees at all about my gripe leave a comment and ask your friends to do the same. If you read and don't agree do the same thing. I don't mind people who don't agree in fact I encourage expressing your opinion here at epinions.com, after all that's why we are here!
