Pros: Nothing special
Cons: Freezes frequently, is not compatable with certain older information programs
The Bottom Line: I had better use and more ease of use with the ol' Compaq and Packerd Bell than I do with the Dell.

| CuppaJo's Full Review: Dell Dimension L733 |
Let me preface this by saying I'm not particularly computer literate by computer-philes standards, but I do know my way around them.
Having said that, I have to say that out of all the computers I have had (Packard Bell, Compaq, IBM, even used Macs!), the Dell is the least user friendly one I have worked with. My old Compaq was getting a bit outdated, and my son needed a computer to run his games and things. My husband and I decided to give him my Compaq, since it had all the requirements he needed, and buy myself a new computer. After some research, we chose a Dell.
From day one, we had problems. When I tried to move my Quicken info from my old Compaq to the Dell I had just bought, it wouldn't "take" it..I had to convert my Quicken files into Microsoft money files and use Microsoft money program. It wouldn't let me load up Quicken at all, even though I had the Quicken installation disk.
This computer also freezes up quite a bit. When I try to run too many programs at once (like AOL, Jasc Paintshop, and Printmaster together), It will just freeze, and I have to do a hard reboot to get it going again. I have 10 gigs of hard drive on this, and this shouldn't be happening.
Another problem I have is that when I do a shutdown, sometimes the button on the hard drive won't turn off. So in order to turn my computer completely off, I have to press and hold the power button until it shuts off, and then turn it back on. Now what is going on with that???
And (this is my fault), the harddrive doesn't have enough ports for me to have everything hooked up that I want to. I could have more installed, but when Dell talks about the money you'll save, they don't tell you that every little thing you want is an added extra.
I have tried to email Dell about these problems, and have never received an answer. I'm NOT impressed with the product or service of the Dell. Don't waste your money... go with something else!
