The Bottom Line When it hits the fan ... I hit my knees!

I have always been a praying woman, I make sure to say a prayer for my children before I drop them off at school in the mornings. And I pray for them again before they go to sleep at night. I pray when I can't find something or when I need some insight. But I have found that the times that REALLY cause me to get into some serious prayer are those times when I am facing situations that carry life changing consequences. It is then that I get on my knees and cry out to God with all my heart. God is all seeing and all knowing so of course he knows this. And I believe it is He who allows me to journey through some of these trials. It is his way of reminding me that he is there. When he is missing my voice or longing to spend time with me. I am thankful to God for these times, for they help me to keep my priorities straight. When a situation of urgency arises, no longer do I sweat the small stuff. The messy bedroom that I had been ranting about only moments before, becomes a distant memory! I realize in that moment what really matters to me in life. And I am able to focus on that and that alone. It is in these times that I am able to draw near to God, to put my trust solely in Him. I blow the dust off of my Bible and begin to reclaim the promises that it holds for me. I am reconciled with the faith of my youth. I am reminded of the love that the creator of the universe has for me ... I am reminded that He is still in control of my life. I often look back upon these times and I am filled with awe. I never cease to be amazed at the miracles that I have been apart of. It renews my faith and restores my strength in a way I never thought possible. Yes, God has a way of Making me pray ... and I am so glad that he does!  |
