The Bottom Line Highly recommended for the more sophisticated and independent travelers - especially a female traveling to the more exotic destinations.
I used 4StarBrazil (http://www.4StarBrazil.com)for a 2 week trip throughout Brazil in 2001 traveling as a single female going from Iguassu Falls, Curitiba, Sao Paulo and the Amazon jungle. I had no problems whatsoever and at every destination I never had a problem with accommodations or guides. I am using them this year for a 3-day stay in Buenos Aires after Antarctica. I They are not in the budget category but for the more knowledgeable traveler accustomed to private guides and independent travel they are highly recommended. I am a single female so I usually book a guide to avoid the organized impersonal tours and I go to the more exotic off-the-beaten-path destinations.
