Pros: None
Cons: Mis-represented their long distance prices, hoping the client wouldn't take time to complain.
The Bottom Line: For long distance service, Qwest lies to me to get the business. I canceled the long distance after less than one month. TOO EXPENSIVE.

| aawehr's Full Review: General Reviews of Qwest Customer Service |
I am a consultant and I audit telephone bills for large corporations. I know the questions to ask and listen for the right answers! I talk with phone vendors everyday. Oh, that fateful day when Qwest called me at home and interrupted my quality time with my big screen television. I knew it sounded too good to be true. Qwest wanted my Intra-latta and Inter-latta business. In other words, long distance within our area and long distance business across the county. I demanded the plan in writing and he said it would be in the mail. The plan details never came in the mail, only the information on their outrageously expensive calling card and the thirty-cents per minute Toll Free number. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill!
Their Offer
One point Seven-cents per minute with no monthly plan fee for local long distance and long distance calling. Free switching to Qwest and from Qwest, should I not be satisfied. A free Toll Free number at thirty cents per minute. When I talked with the guy, I said this is just too good to be true! What's the catch? He said that there was none! I just couldn't pass this by, but I should have! Later Qwest told me that there was no plan that cheap. Did the phone rep just make up his own plan?
What I Got
A $10 per month fee and ten-cents per minute long distance. Was I angry? You bet! I called Qwest immediately and canceled their "service". Why would I switch to a plan that was more expensive then I already had? I will not pay a monthly fee for any plan! I was already paying ten-cents per minute.
Promised, but Yet To Be Seen
Their customer service at 800-860-2255 promised to credit my account with a Twenty-Dollar Credit to cover the monthly fee and the Ten-Dollar Switching Charges. Customer service also asked me to call them when I know the amount of the second set of switching charges and said that they would send me a check to cover them. Can a liar tell the truth? Time will tell.
Meanwhile, I get phones calls and mailings pleading with me to "come back to Qwest." I am sorry I ever took that original phone call.
My Big Question
HOW DO THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS? The third party comes on the line and verifies that you made the switch voluntarily, but do they even care that the vendor told you a pack of lies? They always warn you that they will be taping these calls, but the customer is the one that should have a tape recorder running! What good is the third party verification?
Buyer Beware! Listen to the offer closely and always Read your invoices. From other experiences I also advise to NEVER PUT YOUR BILLS ON AUTOMATIC PAYMENT PLANS. It is better to pay attention to business.
