I got this keyboard protector after having spilled water on my ibook about a month ago and subsequently ruining the logic board. Destroyed logic board = dead ibook. I wasn't going to let that happen again with my new shiny macbook, so I got myself one of these.

So far I've been pretty happy with it. Instructions are pretty basic, take it out of the box, and center it onto your keyboard and smooth it out so that it lays flat and snug around all your keys. The silicone fits perfectly around each key. It does take away from some of the responsiveness of the keys so you won't get that satisfying 'click' feeling. You get more of a dull, mushy feeling. It's a sacrifice, but it was something I felt was worth it since it blocks my keyboard from dust, crumbs and most importantly any water that could potentially spill on it (though i'm much better now with keeping water AWAY from my laptop). It also keeps my keyboard from any wear that might occur, typically on the high traffic areas, the keys start getting smoother where I type a lot, if you type a lot, you'll probably notice it on your keyboard too in the right light (the space bar is typically most apparent)

It's easy to clean, simply remove and wash with water and let dry completely before replacing on your keyboard.

It feels sturdy and it's easy to see through to the letters below. Now that I've had it on my keyboard for nearly a month, I've actually gotten used to the mushy, less responsive feeling and when I take it off, it actually kind of feels odd typing on a bare keyboard. I feel happy knowing that I wont wear off my keyboard keys and that crumbs will stay away from the little crevices.

Make sure to clean your keyboard off with a cloth to get rid of any lint and dust beforehand or it will stick to the underside of the silicone protector.
