Pros: Coverage, strong signal
Cons: No real time system to check usage, phones aren't as intuitive
The Bottom Line: First they were Comcast, then they were called Cellular One. . .now they are known as Cingular. The service is worth the $$$. You will not be disappointed.

| ronr2u's Full Review: Cingular Mobile Phone Service in Philadelphia |
I was a former Sprint PCS user for 2.5 years. I made the switch to Cingular because I was tired of the lack of signal strength in Chester County, especially indoors. I finally switched to Cingular on July 1, 2001 and I noticed a significant difference in coverage. Cingular, so far, has great signal indoors and outdoors. Although I noticed that Cingular's call clarity is inferior to Sprint PCS, I still made a good decision to switch providers. Now I can actually make/receive calls at work which was near impossible with Sprint. There are definitely pros/cons to both services too. For instance, Sprint PCS has online account access in which a user can view their used/available mins for the month as well as view their statements, make an online payment, add/remove additional services to their plan, etc. On Cingular's website, from what I've seen, it does not have the same capability as Sprint. Also, I called Cingular's Customer Service in regards to my pro-rated peak minutes for my current cycle since I subscribed on July 1st (cycle ends on the 10th of every month). The CS rep told me that they did not have a "real-time" system that tracks minutes. As much as I will miss Sprint's "other" features, I'm still happy that I made the decision to switch.
I subscribed to the $39.99 local plan which includes 400 peak minutes with Unlimited Nights and Weekends; peak and off-peak include Long Distance in the U.S. I purchased the Nokia 8265 for it's portability and style. The phone is soo small and light, it's the ideal phone to carry in your pocket or on your belt using the clip.
Overall, Cingular, in Chester County, is a good choice for anyone that depends on signal reliability to make/receive calls. Why else do we carry cell phones? My answer to that question is: To make/receive phone calls ANYTIME & ANYWHERE!!!
