I was really spooked after reading story after story here about problematic washers and dryers. I was sick when I realized our old Maytag croaked. I considered calling a repair tech but common sense got the best of me.

Like I said, ours is on a first floor ceramic tiled floor over a full basement. Really no noticeable shake at all. You will notice serious vibration and violent shaking if the load gets unbalanced but for the most part we also have licked the "ul" unbalanced load issue also with more careful loading.

Good luck,

Mark

Excellent Review on Cabrio HE Washer (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the terrific review. We have chosen the same machine, the Cabrio HE, to replace our LG WM-2277HW Front Loader. Although our LG is only 18 months old, it has shaken and rattled every part of our house, and moved around our laundry room, scratching and damaging our hardwood floors (1st level over sub-flooring and crawl space). How we wish our salesman had warned us that the LG front loaders are only appropriate for Concrete Floors. Nonetheless, Best Buy honored their lemon out policy, and allowed us to replace the LG washer with the machine of our choice. Fearing problems with other front loaders, we have chosen the Cabrio HE top loader, and hope to see the lack of vibration you cited in your review. It arrives on Friday, so we will see!! thanks for the great review, it has reinforced our decision to go this direction this time.

"Off to find your dryer review.."

Sorry Kat,

Still in draft mode... It takes me for ever to complete one of these. Oh how I envy the "review-a-dayers".

So far, it's been a real good choice as well. Although I generally pass on extended warranties, we did break down this time after reading horror story after horror story about new washers and dryers. Lowes had a great warranty extended 4 more years (5 total) @ $139.00 for both the washer and dryer.

you picked a winner. We bought our Whirlpool washer in 1990 - and it's still going strong.

Happy New Year to you and yours
