Scary Movie 2 is a new low in cinema. I had no idea a movie could be this bad. The Wayans brothers are no talent hacks, who coasted off their older brothers fame. Keenen Ivory Wayans and Damon use to be quite funny, when they were on fox television. The truth be told, Damon was the only one of them who ever had any talent and potential to make it in the film industry. So here it is 2001, after the success of the mediocre Scary Movie, Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans are back. In years to come, when people mention bad sequels, this film is sure to be the #1 film that comes to people's minds.

Any movie that makes James Woods (one of my favorite actors) look bad, has got to be godawful. Scary Movie 2 is just such a movie. James Woods is reduced to pooping on a toilet and complaining about the enchiladas he ate for dinner. In what should have been a clever Exorcist gag, the scene is reduced to nothing more than an excuse for a vomit scene. James Woods and Andy Richter have my pity.

As for every other actor in the film, I suggest executions. The Wayans Brothers have a gift for making good actors look bad. Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), David Cross (Mr. Show), and Chris Elliot (There's Something About Mary), are usually very funny actors, not here. Everyone in this movie just stinks!

The original Scary Movie spoofed the ever popular Scream series, this one spoofs The Haunting, yay great idea (smirk). The film spoofs a number of films, but not necessary for comical value, since none of the spoofs are funny; the Wayans brothers spoof because they are not original enough to come up with their own plot.

The film seems to totally ignore the original. Characters who were killed in Scary Movie are back, others are not even mentioned. Most of the film takes place in a haunted house, where unfunny gags are done over and over again. Anna Faris, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Tori Spelling, Christopher Masterson, and some chick with gigantic teats, play the stupid teenagers in the film.

Anna Faris's only talent is making men cum. Shawn Wayans is gay. Marlon Wayans is a pot head. Tori Spelling gives fellatio to a ghost, and Christopher Masterson does zip. Yes ladies and gentleman, these are their main character traits.

Comedy is different for everyone. What I might think is funny, you might disagree, and vice versa. I just don't think any thing in this film is very funny. Most of the gags go on way too long as well. For example, the 88 minute film must spend about 10 minutes on the running and unfunny gag of Chris Elliot's hand. You see it's deformed, and he touches food with it, and he keeps doing this, making the characters and audience sick. Oh how funny!

The reason why the original film was such a success, was because it was so shocking. It had the nerve to stick dicks, and whatever else, in the audience's face. This film is relatively tame. It relies mostly on poop, puke, and swearing birds. This has been done better in hundreds of different films.

For a comedy, the film fails on every single level. I laughed a few times, i'll give it that. Thinking back though, I don't know if I laughed because I thought it was funny, or because I felt sorry for the film in the quiet theater. Let's pray there is no Scary Movie 3.
