Finally, something for people too lazy to look up phone numbers! An Online ordering service! Most the time i don't feel like flipping through the phone book just to find out i called the incorrect location. This is one site i will be coming back to. Here is how the process in which you order pizza online from Papa John's works.
Login or Register
Yep, you have to be a member of this website to be able to order pizza online. There are many Gimmicks and tricks hidden in the registering process as well. Be sure to Uncheck (unless you want the emails of course) the box saying "I would like to receive emails about future specials at Pappa John's". They automatically appear checked (or they did for me at least), so if you forget to uncheck them.....Hello spam! Once you get an account though, you can use that one for all your future orders through the Papa Johns online ordering service (so you don't have to deal with all that re-registering some other services make you do.) Once you register and/or login, you are ready for step two.
Selecting your foods
Here you will be given many options for ordering your Pizza and sides. First you choose your pizza, most the time, i order the "Create your own pizza" as it allows you to choose every last detail of your pizza. It gives you many other options, such as Papa John's Coveted "All Meats Pizza". Navigation through this section is very confusing though in my opinion. You have to choose your pizzas that you want, then put them in the cart, confirm them, and then hit "Continue shopping" (if you wish to order more that is). Then you go back and choose your breadsticks/other sides and go through that entire process Again. Getting old yet? Not to them! You get to go through it Again if you wish to order drinks too. If you can find it, there is also a page that you can just "Check" boxes of what you want. I have only found that once, so most the time i end up going through that endless process. After the food and everything was selected, we had to pay for the food.
Papa John's isn't the most tolerant company out there when it comes to payment. They only accept four major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) or cash (you pay when the pizza comes with cash.). You can also pay with the coveted "Papa Card", which is basicly a gift card to Papa John's. Navigation through the Payment pages is a little more convenient from a customer's perspective. After about three pages, you have paid and the pizza is ordered.
If anything will stop me from ordering online, this has to be it. For some odd reason, whenever i order on the phone, my pizza arrives a lot faster. (Speaking from experience) On Average, i have waited about an hour to an hour and a half when i order online. Comparing that to the average thirty minutes when ordering by phone, I am beginning to wonder how they handle things here. They must not check the computer as often as they answer the phones. If you are not a patient person, Papa John's online ordering service might not be your best fit.
This ever happened to you? "Was the one on this street closer then the one on that street" If so, Papa John's has the tool for you. It lets you look up the nearest location, which definitely shortens delivery time. I use this every time i go to the website (i have terrible memory.). So if you are in the same boat I am, this tool sure does come in handy. It is easy to use too. You have to fill in the
After you have filled those in, Papa John's finds your nearest delivery store. This tool definitely is useful.

Fess up, we have all had this happen to us at least once. You Register with a unique password that is different from the ones you use for other sites. Well, Papa John's also has a way to fix that. All you are required to enter is your
and Poof! The email is already sent to your inbox waiting for you to read it. This service definitely is useful for me, because (like i said earlier) I have awful memory.
For those of us who speak english as a second language, Papa John's offers their entire online ordering service in spanish! That is right, everything from the pizza, to the beverages, to the homepage, to the credit card is in Espanol (spanish). Since i speak english as a first language, i never have had to use this tool, but im sure some of our spanish friends appreciate it.
Overall, this site is one of the worst i have experienced when it comes to ease of navigation. From the second you look at the homepage, you see ads and random information scattered across the screen. After you find your way to the ordering page and wonder if it could get any worse, it does. The Ordering page really is confusing, as it has everything you normally order in different spots littered about the page. Site navigation here gets a B- or C+ in my opinion.
Overall, i enjoy ordering online from Papa John's. It is a very easy alternative (opposed) to looking up the number in the phone book. It has everything you need to order a pizza. On the other hand, it has many things you don't need that confuse you, and make navigation hard. They have tons of things that you won't really use on the site, but are there for looks. After five uses of the online ordering service though, i am beginning to get the hang of it. This service has its ups and its downs, so i give it 3 stars.
