My oldest daughter, Jordan, loves to color and draw pictures of her family, animals, houses, anything she can think of. Of course, like any little sister, Skylar wants to do what her big sister does; now she wants to "scribble masterpieces" in big sister's coloring books and paper. Of course like most big sisters, Jordan does not want her little sister's "masterpieces" in her coloring books.
When doing some last minute Christmas shopping last year I bought both my daughters, Jordan and Skylar the Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers for stocking stuffers. Like any smart mom, I couldn't buy just one, I had to buy one for each of them, or I would hear tons of fighting in the backseat (could someone pass me an aspirin?!)
I paid around $4.00 (on sale) for each of the Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers. I bought mine from Target, but I've also seen the Fisher Price Mini Doodlers at Wal-Mart, Kmart and Meijer's too. I'm sure they can also be found at most toy stores (Toys R Us, etc.) too. The Fisher Price Mini Doodlers are small and lightweight, so they are perfect for short and long car trips. My two girls like to fight in the backseat, so if I can find anything to keep them busy, the better. Since they both love drawing, the Fisher Price Mini Doodlers are perfect.
The Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers measure about 5" by 7", the drawing screen is about 4" by 6". The shape of the Doodle Pro is like a cloud. Fisher price Doodle Pros come in many different colors and styles, from hearts, dinosaurs, shapes, flowers. Each has coordinating color screens, stylus, and erase tabs.
You draw using a magnetic tipped stylus, which is attached to the top of the screen by a very short color coordinated 4" or 5" cord. After a few months of continuous use, both of the stylus' are no longer attached to the Doodle Pros. After your little one makes his or her masterpiece, they can erase it by pulling down the tab on the right side of the Doodle Pro. The stylus has its very own resting place on the right side to when not in use.
On the back is a keyhole, so you can hang it up if you want. Jordan hung hers up on her door, with the words "Keep Out" on it. Of course Skylar, wanting to be like her big sister, wanted hers hung up too. I wrote "Skylar's Room" on hers.
Jordan's thoughts
Jordan has used her Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers for many things. When at home she uses it mainly to draw pictures. When in the car we play learning games with it. She is a very good speller in 1st grade and I want to keep her interested in spelling words outside of school. Every week Jordan has 10 spelling words to learn and has a test on Friday. When in the car I give her a word from that weeks and she writes it out. I then have her spell it back to me. We keep doing this with all 10 words. We also do addition and subtraction problems using the Doodle Pro. Jordan loves her Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers.
Skylar's thoughts
Skylar uses her Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers mostly to scribble her masterpieces. In the past month she has been trying to draw shapes and stick people. At home we practice writing letters. Of course Skylar loves her Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers too. For her 3rd birthday 3 weeks ago, she got one with Lightening McQueen on it, so she is more interested in that one now.
Mom's thoughts
I love the Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers. If can find something that can my girls attention to a toy, instead of each other when in the car, I love it! Jordan and Skylar have had theirs since Christmas 2006 and they are still working and in good shape. The stylus is of course not attached to the Doodle Pro, but the screen isn't broken, the erase tab still works. The screen does have some small dents, but of course it has been dropped and stepped on many times. Just normal wear and tear from a 3 and 7 1/2 year old and keeps on ticking.
Recommendations
I recommend the Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers to anyone who has a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, etc, who loves to draw. The Doodle Pro is small and lightweight so it is easy for small hands to grab and carry around. It is also a great tool in math and spelling words too. The Fisher Price Doodle Pro Doodle Expressions...Mini Doodlers is recommended for kids 3 and over, but Skylar was only 2 1/2 when she got hers and loved it.
