Whadya mean 'clamshell'???
Written: Jul 07 '01
Pros:Flexible design - tablet, keyboard, presentation board - instantly and big enough to read
Cons:almost as big as some "real" PCs
The Bottom Line: If you are considering forking out the cash for a little laptop, you might want to consider this lightweight, simple, less-expensive alternative.
The guy that called this baby a clamshell is no fisherman. When I think of a clamshell, I think of a makeup compact. Of course, that's because I'm a chick, but this little Clio is no clamshell. Can your clamshell VAIO rotate its screen all the way around to fold into a writing tablet?
I wouldn't compare this CE to other CE devices. This is the CE device for folks who want to be able to carry an electronic notepad (like with a pen) and a mini, instant-on, simple laptop at the same time. Combine this puppy with a wireless LAN card and the CE terminal services client and connect to your Windows workstation remotely. Its like being right in front of your PC while you are in a meeting, on the bus or in the john.
