Nice review. Melanie referred me here, and this is simultaneously tasteful, thorough, and - i suspect - right. Despite the high monetary yield of the porn industry, it's apparently still considered shameful enough that _real_ actors aren't willing to make the movies: hence, they're bad. Of course, it could be argued that a movie about sex between ordinary people (with ordinary mothers two years younger than them) _should_ be dull, since so many have been educated on Pepsi commercials and Home Alone 3...
I don't know the project's status, but John Cameron Mitchell - the writer/director of one of my favorite movies, Hedwig and the Angry Inch - intends for his next film to be a real, worthwhile movie including a fair amount of real, non-sleazily-treated, sex between people who are "interesting-looking", as opposed to stereotypically hot. He wasn't able to staff it with Hollywood actors, and had to sent out invitations for amateurs all over the country to send in audition tapes. I like Mitchell, and i'm surprised (as is he) about how difficult finding actors was. I wish him well.

This is exactly the type of review that I'd like to see in the still fictional "adult entertainment" category.. You've described the video, offered your thoughts and opinions about it and (gasp!) even managed to do it tactfully..

Well, maybe you ought to fastforward that scene then!! Usually, people fastforward these things so they can get to the sex scenes right away... this might be the first time that someone would skip the sex scenes! hahahaha!!!!!
