I know how .....to pirouette while making pancakes, .....to direct the orchestra with my spatula, .....and to use the spoon as my microphone. I know that .....pot roast prepared while listening to Mozart tastes much better, .....'Sloppy Joes' require jazz, .....and rock and roll will produce tasty tacos. I know how to vacuum with joy, .....because I am free to choose when, .....and if, .....I vacuum at all. I know how to dance with my mop .....and admire my occasional snazzy move. I know that my most profound thoughts can come while doing dishes. I know that I’m a better person .....because Beethoven makes me cry, .....and rhythm and blues make me move, .....and a rose petal against my cheek can make me quiet. I know that occasionally, I am in touch with my higher self, .....and at those times, I’m confident that all is as it should be. I know that frequently, .....I forget that I know these things. I know that when I’ve forgotten; ..........meals are only to be eaten, ..........a house is only to be cleaned, ..........children are only to be raised, ....................and I live only to die. I know there’s more, somehow. I know that life is not about the event. .....Life is about how I live each event.  |
