The Bottom Line These are my choices. Whether you agree, or not, all of these videos must be seen, cause they F*CKIN RULE!

To take a break from the regular music reviews and comments ive posted, now ive decided to go a bit different and go into the visual aspect of music: the music video. Some people think having a music video means selling out.... no... that isnt true. A Music Video basically is the artists representation of the song, whether creative, or basic. I have gathered together all of the music videos (that i have seen), and picked the top 25 BEST hip hop videos OF ALL TIME.

These videos are the cream of the crop when it comes to creativity, music, comedy, and just plain fun to watch. Some of these are loaded with special effects, and some are just silly representations of songs, either way, the artist or artists reached their peak with these videos.

25 - Rahzel - All I Know
The Master of Noise Rahzel comes out with his first video from his debut album Make the Music 2000. This video is hilarious as we follow Rahzel from his birth, to his childhood, to his graduation, to his elderly years where the torch is passed. Geniusly produced video with hilarious moments and defines Rahzel's insane, silly, yet very hip-hopish style.

24 - Black Star - Definition
One of my favorite videos. It features Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Hi-Tek driving along brooklyn spitting hot rhymes from their Black Star album. Just a cool video, and also the first time ive ever seen Talib Kweli's face.

23 - The Fugees - Ready or Not
The trio of incredible emcees flow in an underwater submarine, and each spit amazing rhymes over an amazing backdrop. The song is what pushes the video so well, and its extremely creative. From their The Score legendary LP.

22 - Nas - One Mic
Though recent, this is definetely my favorite Nas video. Showcasing the sheer street poetry that Nas raps about so well, with vivid images and Nas fully representing his streets, this is his best achievement when it comes to videos. The flashy videos dont fit with Nas too well, so this ghetto video is awesome. Song is from Nas' Stillmatic album.

21 - Ice Cube - It was a Good Day
I chose this because its a perfect interpretation of the song from Ice Cube. The stories and lyrics flow perfectly with the visuals of what is a PERFECT day of no-violence, and just good ole fashioned fun, which is an amazing, and cool song, with a tight video to match.

20 - Snoop Dogg - Murder was the Case
In my opinion, Snoop's overall BEST video. Creepy video with Snoop Dogg narrating a murder scene, which is an amazing prequel to his murder trial, which would come VERY soon after this came out. The Video narrates perfectly with the song, and is Snoop's most entertaining yet.

19 - Outkast - B.O.B.
One of the craziest videos ive ever seen from Outkast's Stankonia album. Basically, Andre 3000 wakes up and warp-speeds everything in extremely fast speeds. He runs, and is being chased by a humungous mob of his fans. He regroups with Big Boi and they both spit some amazing rhymes over a VERY hilarious and fun video. Everything is CRAZY here.

18 - Method Man - Judgement Day
Apocalyptic video from Method Man's Tical 2000 album. Method Man narrates some awesome lyrics about the end of the world in an apocalyptic video with explosions, flames, and some amazing special effects.

17 - Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize
One of Biggie's best songs from his Life after Death LP, this video is awesome. Basically, Biggie along with Puff Daddy are showing off their money, but they are soon chased by a gang of "haters". After an amazing car chase involving helicopters and hip hop, they make it home free. Over the backdrop of a golden room, with girls dancing and sharks in the background, its one of Biggie's best visual accomplishments.

16 - 2pac - Keep ya Head Up
The first 2pac video i ever saw. Famous video where 2pac narrarates with all of his homies about the troubles with the world, specially the non-stop abusiveness to females. 2pac is in his famous white and red striped shirt here, as he showcases his poetry. Nothing too flashy, but pure street. Definetely a classic video.

15 - The Roots - The Next Movement
Classic Video. The Roots are basically on stage, and each time the curtain changes, they go to a different, yet hilarious position. Its kinda weird unless you actually watch it. Not only that, but the song is AWESOME. This video is chock-full of creativity.

14 - Dr. Dre - Nothing but a G Thang
The first real west coast video to get extremely popular, its still looked on as one of the best videos of all time in hip hop. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg exemplify everything that means west coast, not to mention the low-riders are extremely entertaining. As they take a stroll through the hood, you can feel the streetness, and the music narrates it perfectly.

13 - Eminem - The Real Slim Shady
Eminem's best video. Eminem raps from a mental asylum about the current state of music, including all these fakers trying to be him. He drops a BUNCH of famous names and makes fun of them. This video includes some hilarious moments and doesnt have not even ONE wasted moment. The lyrics fit perfectly with each and every frame. Not to mention, as usual, Eminem dresses up like a bunch of people, including a sickening ending involving an onion ring and an overweight woman. Im sure everybody has seen this, i personally love it.

12 - A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario
Hip Hop classic. Featuring a bunch of computer effects to assist the rappers, its the emcees that come on here and dominate with tight verses from the then-unknown Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes. From the Low End Theory album.

11 - Notorious B.I.G. - One More Chance
The best Biggie video. Biggie raps over the setting of a seductive party features a cadre of guest stars including Faith Evans, Puffy, Tyrese, Luke Campbell, Heavy D, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, and more. Biggie's seductive lyrics over a classic piano instrumental fuel this into being no doubt, his GREATEST accomplishment and a true video masterpiece.

10 - Public Enemy - Fight the Power
This is an amazing video. Chuck D and Flavor Flav come on the streets with a giant socially-conscious riot promoting civil rights and freedom. Definetely a true classic video.

9 - Onyx - Slam
How can you not watch this video and get excited. Over an INSANE concert, the Onyx crew spits some WILD lyrics and there is definetely, a HUGE MOSH pit involved. All three emcees jump and shake crazy as if they are having seizures. The insanely loud song pushes the video and makes it that much better. Its a pure definition of what Onyx is and what hip hop used to be. Song is from the Bacdafucup album, which i recently reviewed.

8 - 2pac - California Love
2pac's most famous video ever. 2pac and Dr. Dre describe a post-apocalyptic world where there is a civil war going on in California. Produced by Hype Williams, he had an amazing vision with this video, which reminds me a lot of those old school Sinbad movies. At the end, it turns out to be just a dream, but this video is still amazing, regardless.

7 - Sway and Tech - The Anthem
Many people havent seen this video, but its awesome. Featuring West Coast Radio DJs Sway and Tech, and a cadre of amazing emcees including Eminem, Xzibit, King Tech, Rza, Chino-XL, and KRS-One. This video uses some awesome special effects and make it revolve around what true hip hop is, defined by each emcee. Each emcee has his own backdrop filled with amazing transition effects over a catchy instrumental and some amazing lyrics. You wont believe how cool it is until you see it.

6 - Busta Rhymes - Woo Hah
Busta Rhymes most hilarious video. Its very hard to choose between his videos, but this was his original hit. Its hilarious just the facial expressions that Busta makes on this video, and his change of costumes and insaneness is awesome. This is truly the song that got me into Busta in the first place. The color changes are pleasing to the eyes, and the video is JUST insane.

5 - Wu-Tang Clan - Gravel Pit
Ok, many might not consider putting this here, but i do. Not only is the song an amazing track featuring Ghost, U-God, and Meth, but the backdrop of the stone age is genius. Its just like the Flintstones, which is cool. But thats not all, the surprise ending is what got me. The ninjas, along with Gza, coming out and giving an amazing martial arts performance at the end shocked me. Its so F*cking COOL... and brings them back to the Shaolin ways.

4 - Raekwon - Ice Cream
Madtheory's favorite video, no doubt a classic. The four emcees of Cappadonna, Raekwon, Ghostface, and Method Man deliver one of the most amazing songs ever. Bordering from commercialism to underground street cred, this balances both perfect. Ghost and Raekwon seduce their own woman, but Cappadonna destroys the track with his infectious final verse, sending a message out to ALL women. As Method Man compares different women to ice cream flavor, they are having a huge party in front of an ice cream truck driven by Rza, which is GENIUS! The women with their tight shirts showcasing their "flavor" shows their creativity, and Method Man ANNIHILATES it on the outro. He looks awesome with the pimp cane. Definetely a banger, though a bit rare. I havent seen it on TV in years.

3 - Makaveli - Hail Mary
The best 2pac video. Its creepy storyline still haunts me. Basically, a dude goes to jail and feels sad because he was framed and people think he killed his best friend, which is 2pac. On the video, Makaveli arises from the dead metaphysically to get revenge on his enemies. Each one of his enemies are killed in a bizarre way, as the video is VERY Creepy, specially the part where Makaveli's tombstone is struck by lightning. Very Dark Video over a Dark Song, and it must be seen by everyone.

2 - Bone Thugs & Harmony - Crossroads
You cant deny that this deserves the #1 slot. On this video, the four members of Bone pay respects to their fallen friends, as the Angel of Death disguised as a huge black man, goes around taking the souls of diseased ones and bringing them to heaven. Featuring the backdrop of a mountain, a church, and a bunch of other saddening endings, we see the Angel of Death take Uncle Wallie, friends Wally, Terry, Boo, and even a newborn baby. Very heartwarming and touching video, and one of the best ever.

1 - Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph
No doubt about it, the greatest hip hop music video ever made. The near-7 minute explosion of creativity from every member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Some say the song that got them in the mainstream. Basically, the concept is, that New York is under attack by swarms of Killer Bees, which transform into the Wu-Tang Clan. Each member has his own backdrop, and they all rap from the so-called "Nest". Some of the backdrops include Method Man leading a motorcycle gang, U-God in the middle of a forest fire, Cappadonna as an energy manipulating shape shifter, Rza as the "Abbott" Angel of Death in a prison, GZA RAPPING FROM SPACE!!!!, and Masta Killa rising above on a huge "W" sign in the middle of the city. Some of the most amazing special effects over one the greatest tracks the Wu-Tang Clan has ever recorded, this is the greatest Wu-Tang Clan Video, and the Greatest Hip Hop Video in history. You gotta see this if you've never seen it.
