Pros:It's Hulk Hogan.
Cons:The "bad" Hulk Hogan wasn't something to be proud of.
The Bottom Line: Hogan still kicks major butt!

Plot Details: This opinion reveals no details about the movie's plot.

Wrestling has always been something I was addicted to when I was a little kid, that and horror movies. I recall my parents telling me that I would watch our wrestling VHS tapes over and over until they were worn out. I couldn't help it, wrestling seemed to fascinate me. It still has a small effect on me now, but these days it all seems fake[even though it has been fake since I've been watching it] to me and it lost my interest. Still, wrestling is a great sport and out of the many great wrestlers, no one can deny Hulk Hogan was probably one of the greatest, if not the ultimate wrestler.

The Ultimate Anthology is another recent release from Wrestling Home Video and this time of course is Hulk Hogan. This Anthology features 9 hours(3 discs) of Hulk Hogan content; from his classic matches with Andre The Giant to The Undertaker and the really cool feature of commentary by Jimmy Hart and Gene Okerlund before each match. There are also interviews with other wrestlers like Edge and Ric Flair during this as well. Unlike Bret Hart's DVD, there is no story actually to be told here and thus the matches are really the star of this DVD.

You have 24 matches, each are pretty lengthy(I've noticed that the past wrestling has always been longer than today's wrestling..isn't that kind of weird?) so you are definitely getting your moneys worth. You do have extras here, you get a bonus DVD of Hogan Knows Best, an episode from the first and second season and then a sneak preview of season 3. Two more extras include Hogan talking about his early days in wrestling and Iron Sheik talking about his match with Hulk Hogan. I think the extras are pretty low in quality, but with all the matches, you can somewhat easily forget the extras. It's quite possible you won't even pay attention to the extras.

The matches are:
Hogan v.s. Andre The Giant(1980)
Hogan v.s. Nick Bockwinkel(1983)
Hogan v.s. Iron Sheik(1984)
Hogan v.s. Big John Studd(1984)
Hogan v.s. Rowdy Roddy Piper(1985)
Hogan & Mr. T v.s. Rowdy Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff(1985)
Hogan v.s. King Kong Bundy(1986)
Hogan v.s. Paul Orndorff(1986)
Hogan v.s. Andre The Giant(1987)
Hogan v.s. Macho Man Randy Savage(1989)
Hogan v.s. Ultimate Warrior(1990)
Hogan v.s. Sgt. Slaughter(1991)
Hogan v.s. The Undertaker(1991)
Hogan v.s. Ric Flair(1994)
Hogan v.s. Giant(1996)
Hogan v.s. Sting(1997)
Hogan v.s. Curt Henning(2001)
Hogan v.s. The Rock(2002)
Hogan v.s. Triple-H(2002)
Hogan & Edge v.s. Chuck & Billy(2003)
Hogan v.s. Mr. McMahon(2003)
Hogan v.s. Shawn Michaels(2005)

Basically, if you are a fan of Hulk Hogan, you must get this. It has excellent matches(loved the one with Ric Flair), pretty interesting commentary and interviews and it's definitely jam-packed full of exciting eventS on this DVD. Although, the extras are pretty low and the bonus disc of Hogan Knows Best will probably not interest anyone, Ultimate Anthology is the perfect Hulk Hogan DVD. Get it, enjoy it and cherish what Hulk Hogan has made in wrestling and how he is the stand-out wrestler of the 80's and 90's.
