Pros: Clean, Comfortable, Quiet, Accomodating, More than I paid for.
Cons: Not all motels are Comfort Inns. This review contains Atlanta area advice too.
The Bottom Line: I whole heartedly reccomend the Comfort Inn. I have a friend that will let me stay in his Ramada Inn at discount or free... I am a Comfort Inn devotee.

I am very picky when I choose temporary quarters. There are certain things that I mandate as essentials before I will consider laying my head on their pillows and closing my eye for a nights rest away from home. When I travel I seek a place that is clean. comfortable, quiet, and accommodating.
My theory on paying for the highest dollar temporary resident is formed based on opinion built by experience. Let's face it when you go somewhere to a city on vacation or for a convention you are not there to camp out in your motel or hotel room. Most of the time spent there your eyes will be closed and your consciousness of your surroundings are numb. Although this is true, the period of time you are awake you want to be in a clean environment that is climate controlled and rodent free.
On previous trips to the Atlanta area I had stayed at The Peachtree and was shocked to find that I paid $130.00 for a room that had broken fixtures (cheap K-Mart full length wall mirror was leaning on against the wall and in the bathroom I found that one had to do a balancing act to keep from sliding off of the toilet seat as that it was loosely fitting. The room was small and I noted to my wife that it was no different than the Motel Six room we had stayed in the previous night. My wife was tired and therefore we opted (I yielded to avoid a major conflict like any intelligent husband would do) to remain in the Peachtree for the night.
Skip to next paragraph unless you are going to Atlanta and want some advice on great places to eat.
We were going to Underground Atlanta and the Peachtree was just a few blocks away. The Hotel had a great restaurant (which I did a review on here on Epinions) called the Paloris which turned out to be a very memorable experience. I loved the Paloris please read my review to see why. If you ever go to Atlanta, you owe it to yourself to dine there. On the flip side of the coin you should also seek out the Varsity which is a drive-in, walk-in restuarant close to the university campus and has the most dynamite chili dogs (or you can opt for the dog without chili, in which case they will yell out your order as "ONE NAKED!". I have found getting there a bit difficult, but not so if I took Marta which is the underground rail which leaves out from Underground Atlanta and goes almost everywhere you want to go You should go to these no matter where you stay when in Atlanta.
Back to Comfort Inn
When checking in I was shocked to learn that Comfort Inn Marrietta, which where we stayed, announced that we were invited to a welcome reception that was at 5:00 to 6:00. I was told by the very nice clerk that wine and cheese would be served and that we should come and join. This was a bonus service that was offered free to the guests. We checked in and found our room. I walked in to the room and the first thing that I noticed was the large 31" color television. I was expecting a smaller 19" model. What a difference!
The second thing that grabbed my eye was a dining table sitting in the corner. I had brought some work to do and thought that it would come in handy when my wife attended her lactation consultants seminar the following day. After walking to the table and placing my briefcase upon it I was taken back when I looked to my right and saw something that I had no idea we were going to be blessed with. There was a complete kitchen, stove, refrigerator, and double sink with sprayer. It was nicer than my efficiency apartment that I maintain in the city I commute to on a regular basis.
I walked through and noted that the bathroom although small was very clean. No frills here, but I found the day that the water was WARM and soothing. It indulges either a shower or a leisurely bath.
After I stowed the luggage and hung the suits on the rack, I went to the wine and cheese welcome that was going on when I arrived. I was very pleased to find that they were serving beer, wine, chips, crackers, pretzels, and cheese. There were two attendants to assist you. Everyone was very polite and cheerful! I got there late, but was early enough to take in about 20 minutes of the free feast which was provided. I don't know if the Comfort Inn management are aware of it or not, but the welcome wine and cheese has made me a regular customer to the Comfort Inn. I seek out the Comfort Inns when ever I must travel overnight.
You should be warned that the welcome party that I attended in Atlanta may not be practiced in every Comfort Inn. I have stayed in other cities and checked in far too late to know if they offered the same affair in those sites.
I have not been in one Comfort Inn that does not off a continental breakfast. Most of them offer Cereals, toast and jam, bacon, milk, coffee, instant grits, and Krispy Creme donuts.
Bottom Line:
If you don't want to spend a fortune, but be treated like you have one, Comfort Inn is the place for you. It certainly is the place for me.
Advice on how to pay less.
Don't forget to tell them Greenspan sent you and that you saw it here on Epinions.com . Also, don't forget to ask for the AAA discount. (They don't ask for the card and I was told by a clerk that they expect you to ask for it. If you don't ask they consider it gravy. I am not saying to lie, just ask if you can recieve the triple A's discount. Of course seniors should ask for the senior's AARP discount. They are the same and they expect you to ask for it.)
Almost forgot the bed was firm and great on my back best sleep I had gotten in weeks! Of course the wine and cheese may have helped.
