Pros:nice looking and fit my space.
Cons:keypad replaced 3 times. oven 'brain' needed to be replaced. probe doesn't work.
The Bottom Line: avoid this model. it failed to work 18 months later on thanksgiving day. 34 months later and keypad has problems, probe doesn't work.

bought this gas range april, 2004. did not use til june, 2004 until after kitchen remodel. ceramic glass top turned out to be a very dark garnet, not black. shows every speck of splatter, very hard to clean. probe doesn't work, didn't know that until jan 07, first use. keypad very fragile, stopped working nov 2005, replaced 3 times. repairman told me this keyboard was problematic; told me to be careful cleaning it as the connections are very sensitive; suggesting i not use self-cleaning oven or if i did, not more than 2 hours. can't program it for 2hrs. it has default timing. he warned me that the excessive heat could affect the keypad, which it has. keypad, although a great idea in concept, not in reality..plus it gets all the splatter from whatever you cook.
kitchenaid folks are very polite, but really aren't concerned. one of the repair people they sent didn't show. the second repair person showed up tried to fix it, ordered a white keypad for a black range, installed it, it didn't work, came out again, reordered a new keypad, installed it, it worked while he was there; next day it didn't work. new repair person said it wasn't the keypad, it was the 'brains' in the oven, ordered that, came back and replaced it and the keypad. this ordeal lasted from november, 2005 through end ofjanuary, 2006. not sure what recourse i have other than to give it to charity and buy another brand. kitchen aid did pay for the first visit. it took me until end of january to collect the $55 evaluation charge from A&E factory service. those of you who have attempted to have something fixed, know that 20 or more phone calls are required before it's fixed. and 20 calls is an underestimate, not including waiting for the repair person and rescheduling. it is a test of one's patience and sanity.
