The Bottom Line The Writer's Corner scares me, yet I'm oddly drawn here..........

The Mildest of Days, the Calmest of Calm
(you took it, did too, did not)
Serenity Soothes Me, an Aromatic Balm
(i know you did it’s what you’ve got)

I See the World with a Rosy Hue
(I’m telling mom. mom!! come here!)
Meadows, Fawns, the Morning Dew
(get away and don’t come near!)

My Mind is Free to Mull Such Things
(ok i have it. look at that!)
As Natures Glory as the Bluebird Sings
(mom! the door closed on the cat!)

I am Unfettered by Daily Turmoil
(the cat’s ok, mom, but you should see)
I Leave it to Others, the Angst and Toil
(this great big spot where i went pee)

For Me it is Peace, for my Mind is my Own
(i’m really hungry, can i have a snack?)
Yes, I am Serene, and I Have Grown
(it’s been ten minutes, i’ll have an attack!)

Above the Long Gone Need to Fret
(is dad home? why not? where is he?)
But Then Again….Perhaps Not Yet
(there’s nothing to do, let’s watch more tv.)

For All the Above is Crap, I Admit
(mom! come here! it has to be now!)
Serenity Eludes Me, but I Don’t Care a Bit
(i can’t wait, i don’t know how!)

For All the Calm and Peace One Sees
(mom, there’s cereal on the rug.)
My Real Life is in the Parentheses.
(i love you, mom, can i have a hug?)

Dedicated to my wonderful, chaotic family and every parent who has ever cleaned the kitchen floor with an old bib, wiped a runny nose on their own shirt or cried on the first day of school.
