When I first decided to get a camcorder, it was after careful consideration. Well, my friends had one, I wanted one, and I knew which one to get! When I looked into models and other types of video(DV, etc.). The closest to my budget was the 8mm. So I went looking, my friend reccomended the TRV16 because he had the same exact one. So I had some experience with it before I bought it. After realizing this was the camera I was getting, I hit the stores. This $600 price on a 8mm camera seemed expensive. I checked online, Ebay more specifically. I found a brand new TRV16, with battery, charger, RCA cables, and an 8mm tape, for only 250. I bought it, and the next week I had my camera. I tore it out of the box, popped the battery and tape in and started recording. This thing rocked. Everywhere I went I brought my camera, wanting to catch a soccer riot, twister, or even burglary on film! My new found friendship has been in the family for about a year now and the only thing I have found wrong with it is that the 180x zoom, was defeated by a mile with the release of the next trv. But other than that, and a few tiny buttons this camera has nothing wrong with it. I'll cut this review short by saying, this camera at this year is not worth $600(you could save a little more and get a DV camera). But if you can find it used for maybe $400, this is a great camera!
