Pros:Good anytime minutes, EXCELLENT coverage, and unlimited internet access
Cons:Limited selections of phones
The Bottom Line: It has the best service and is the BEST provider. Don't listen to those other idiots' reviews. They have no idea what they're talking about.

I've been with AT&T for about 2 years now and I'm probably going to switch Sprint only because I want the new color Sanyo 5000. So I decided to read up on reviews of service providers and see what people on the net think. Out of curiousity I decided to check out AT&T's reviews, and thats when I was shocked by all the negative comments about my beloved service provider. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU IDIOITS TALKING ABOUT!!!

Trust me, I know, I have worked as a Pacbell salesman before they turned into Cingular, and I have friends working for Spring, AT&T, and Verizon. We always joked around about each of our employers (ie, Sprint's notorious dropped calls, AT&T's crap phones that they offer, Verizon's $hitty anytime minutes, and Pacbell's weak coverage.) All in all we all agreed that the "Best Services" were AT&T and Verizon. And the simple fact was because they've been around the longest. They own all the towers and etc.

An example of an idiotic review was a woman complaining that she got no reception from her digital plan inside her apartment, whereas her old analogue phone did. The reason was because digital just doesn't travel through walls as well as analogue. And you guys have no idea how many customers bittch about their celluar service. What the hell do you expect, every service will have dead spots and if you hillbillies try to make calls from your boonie azz homes of course it's gonna drop. Yes, Uncle billy bob's farm is considered Roaming you donkey. In addition, different services will have different dead spots, thus, depending on where you make most of your calls another service provider might be better for your needs. But in general, AT&T and Verizon have the BEST coverage by far. And that's what you're looking for in a cellular provider isn't it? How many times do you idiots call customer service to complain a month? Maybe that's why you've had a bad experience with them.

Here are some generalizations that the Pacbell/AT&T/Verizon/Sprint/etc salesmen and myself have come to during our experience with these companies.

AT&T: Best service, great coverage. The downside is that they offer non-pimp phones (until the recent 8200), and this is why most business and professionals go with this service (that and nextel). Why do they choose AT&T, cause it's the BEST you dumbasses.

Pacbell: Weak coverage in some places cause it's GSM digital and all that, they don't have as many towers, no internet, etc. Most younger crowds choose this cause they have pimper phones that you can customize. Plus if you go to the right places you can get most of their phones free or at a really low price (don't buy from a Cingular store). So the younger crowd pick this service cause you can get the phones for dirty cheap and they used to offer free mobile to mobile (so they can call all their buddies for free).

Verizon: This service is a lot like AT&T, where it draws most of the more professional crowd cause they have great coverage which is what business people need. They also have the most technological phones which makes it a great pick. However, their plans offer less anytime minutes compared to other services.

Sprint: Spring also draws a lot of younger crowds and no credit people because you can get away without a deposite. This recent new "exception" have made it possible for broke people to get a cell phones, or for younger people to build credit. Sprint also offers a lot of the BEST phones available to the US market, like Verizon, they have the newest phones and the most high end as well. The only problem is that this service is relatively new and thus the problematic dropped calls. But with time Sprint will rise to compete in coverage with AT&T and Verizon.

In Conclusion: Basically AT&T and Verizon are the BEST service providers in the nation. In both nationwide coverage and local LA coverage. Granted if you're making calls outside metro areas your quality and coverage is going to suffer. Also if you're tryin to call from inside a bombshelter its not going to work. Like I said before, in different areas different service provider might have the better coverage for you so pick and choose your provider carefully. No service is perfect and none of them will satisfy your every needs. But by far AT&T is the best provider.
