After all, this will help me resurrect that sappish fool inside that I only bring out on special occasions.

Now my write-off is complete! Yipee yahoo! Thanks, Jimmy-Wimmy Ding Dong. What's the line from that Christmas movie...no one is a failure who has friends. You are one of them.

Good idea, Jan... (Reply to this comment)

Not sure I can come up with something, but I'll be thinking about it. My creativity is "way down there" with my energy these days. There's just something about winter...
It'll be fun reading the other contributions, even if I can't join in.
I'm thinking...that's a start!

Janny-Wanny Doo-Dah (Reply to this comment)
by 29th_Candidate
I may jump in here, janny.
Not because I have such a compelling urge to bind myself to yet another Damoclean sword in the form of a review-posting obligation, but rather to support you in your efforts to host a successful maiden W-O.
For what it's worth, it seems to me the real success lies in the very act of taking on an endeavor that forces you to face the possibility of "failure." By virtue of that act, you succeed in achieving a crucial victory over the one uncertain variable which determines whether or not you'll succeed or fail in any other undertaken venture; "yourself."
By my unsolicited reckoning, there's much less of a difference between success and failure, than there is between "taking a risk" and "not taking a risk," or between "completing a task" and "quitting."
Sharing the camaraderie of one's friends is (for me) just as satisfying in a doomed effort as it is in a successful one.
Well-- I guess there's no way for me to wriggle out of this one after that extended hot air deposit, eh? Okay. Plunge taken.
With Substantially More Than Requisite Bombast,

Whatever you want, Barbara. It's open to interpretation. Fiction, nonfiction. Just looking for original perspectives on what soul mates are to you or hope to be. Are they simply lovers or are they best friends? What do you look for in a soul mate? Why? Do soul mates need to believe everything you do, in your religion, philosophy? Can they be your total opposite? Why? That kind of stuff.
Or write a story about soul mates. Or review a media product that talks about soul mates.
