Pros: Easy to program and to use.
Cons: Nothing much yet. It's new so I might have to add something later.
The Bottom Line: If you want an easy to use, economical solution to replace your nesting ground of remotes...this'll do it.

| az_1234's Full Review: Crisp Solutions UCommand 515 Touchscreen IR Remote... |
Note: This review is for the SIMA SUR20 remote which is identical to the Crisp Solutions UCommand 515 (except for the badging of course.)
Info on both can be found here:

I have been looking for a remote that will compliment my system and still be easy enough for my girlfriend to use and this product adheres to both those requirements. I chose this remote over the Sony RMAV2100 mainly for the difference in the size of the remotes. It is still a large remote, but it can be used with just one hand unlike the Sony one.
The touchpad is easy to use and easy to read. It is naturally a magnet for fingerprints, but they clean off easily enough. A nice benefit that I learned about after using the remote is that certain function buttons are always in the same place for the different input modes so once you know where they are, it's the same for all the different modes. If that sounds a bit obtuse, allow me to further explain...If you have remotes for your cable box, amplifier, and TV, they all have volume buttons on different places on each remote. However, the volume buttons on this remote are always in the same place. Just like they are for Fast Forward and Rewind for the VCR, DVD, Tape, and CD modes. It makes it easy to use and easy to remember.
The Remote learn feature is easy to use. Just follow along with the flashing icons and you can have most remotes programmed in under 45 seconds each. I had my DVD player, CD player, receiver, TV, and cable box learned in less than 5 minutes. The Sima version of this remote has built in, preprogrammed codes for certain manufacturers listed in the manual, the Crisp Solutions manual does not. However, the codes listed refused to work for my Panasonic TV and they were missing some functionality for my DVD player and VCR. It was much easier just to use the Learn function for each individual remote.
The Macro record feature is an excellent benefit. One function I use it for is to get ready to watch a DVD by having it programmed to turn on my receiver, change to DVD input, turn on TV, change video input, turn on DVD player, open tray, and it is ready for me to insert a DVD; all at the touch of a button. However, you must be vigilant in paying attention when programming the macros. There is no real verification of your button pushing sequence so you have no idea if you did it right until you test it on your system. It would be much nicer if when you were done recording a macro, it would show you what button sequence you pushed by lighting them up in sequential order.
