Cheap Phone for Cheap Price
Written: Jul 11 '01
Pros:Hooks up to Headset, Volume Control, Small, Light, Speed Dial.
Cons:Sound Quality, Feel in Hand, Buttons.
The Bottom Line: It has some good, useful features, but when it comes to the basics of a phone, it flops.
The reason that I bought this cordless phone was because I needed a cheap one that would hook up to a hands-free headset. I bought this one or a little under $50 and thought it was a good deal, but I don't really like what I got.
Some things wrong with the phone are the most important thing, the sound itself. The other persons voice does not come in clear, even though the phone does have a handy volume control on it. It also fuzzes and out quite frequently. You may be thinking that because I mentioned that I needed it for use with a headset that the headset is the problem, but I have used it often without the headset and the problem persists. One of the first things I noticed when I did use it without the headset is that it doesn't feel very comfortable in you hand. And when you try to rest it on your shoulder when you need two hands, it feels awkward also.
There are some very appealing things about this phone though too. I especially like the program option. You can program up to nine speed dials on the phone and call someone with just two pushes of a button instead of seven. I also appreciate that the console that the cordless phone sits in when it is charging is also very small and light so it doesn't clutter your desk. The other things that are nice about this phone I already mentioned in the volume control and the fact that it hooks up to a headset.
Overall I would only recommend this phone to a buyer who was looking for something really cheap that hooks to a headset. Otherwise, I would steer clear of this communications device.
