| alexaks's Full Review: General Reviews of MCI Worldcom Customer Service |
After trying AT&T and Nextel (each for a year period), I decided to give MCI a shot. (I live in NYC, so result in your area may vary.)
I use my cell 2-3 times a day, more on the weekends. Most of the time the local coverage from MCI is adequate, and service is available most of the times. One thing to remember, is that MCI is utilizing Verizon's wireless network, so you would get the same coverage with Verizon. I was happy for 4 months, then I have received my first bill. Note: it takes MCI at least 4 months to send you the first bill! My contract was $29.99/month, well...was I surprised to get a bill for about $56 for one month. The activation fee that was supposed to be waived, was not.
Mistakes do happen I told myself and decided to call MCI customer service to find out what happened. To my surprise, their customer service was not 24-hours, so I called the next morning from work. After 1.5 hours listening to the encouragements that "Your call is important to us", I decided to call them some time later, so the next day, I tried calling MCI in the afternoon....2 hours and no luck. I sent them an e-mail. It took MCI 3 days to respond to it, but they did credit the disputed amount to my account.
Dealing with MCI wireless customer service has been nothing but hassle.
