I am crashing this W/O hosted by Jankp and Davidmac it's the "Calling all Souls" Valentines Day, a day associated with love, and hearts. Feelings, sentiments, emotions, and devotion. This write off is supposed to allow us to express and explain our personal meaning of that word SOUL MATE. How about a little English lesson? Let's take a look at the dictionary meaning for a second. Soul: "The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity. The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state. Mate: One of a matched pair. A person with whom one is in close association an associate. A good friend or companion. One shares living quarters. Often A deck officer on a merchant ship ranking next below the master. To join closely; pair. To unite in marriage." Who and what do I consider a soul mate? First and foremost the Creator of my soul. Who could love me or be more of a mate to me then the one who breathed life into my soul? Be it person, place, or thing most people have seen the person, or place they consider a soul mate. I am here to tell you I have seen my eternal soul mate A couple of weeks ago I under went surgery for a shoulder that was injured while performing my job. The injury was last July, since that time I have been out of work. I would like to say the toughest part of it all is behind me, but facing a minimum of twelve more weeks of extensive physical therapy, I fear the toughest part still lies ahead. Complications following surgery allowed me to be the guest of the hospital for two unexpected days. I won't mention how this information leaked to this wonderful Epinions community (smile) but it did. I have said I have seen my soul mate, I have seen God. A pretty bold statement, but I have proof and I am going to share the proof with you, my other soul mates. I saw God in a write off dedication. I saw God in emails, snail mails, cards, flowers, and in the most powerful way of all prayers. I saw God in each of your words and thoughts. I heard Gods voice in the worried voices of my family, and friends. I saw it in the eyes of my son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and a dear friend who drove an entire night to spend one day with me. I see it, read it, hear it daily in the person of Susidee, who spent countless hours sitting in a hospital, taking a week of vacation to tend to whatever I needed. Pushing pills, fluffing pillows, turning the heat up and down as my temperature constantly changed. Lying awake nights making sure my breathing stayed within normal limits (of course I knew Susi). Countless calls from the Gungian family. Numerous cards, many prayers, and a special gift that only made a big brother bigger in the eyes of his sister. Thanks Gung! What this is all leading to, is my saying to each of you, book definitions are a good base foundation. However, my definition of a soul mate is each of you. I have always known Epinions was a community of special people, now I have proof. I have once again been shown prayers have no prejudice, no bias, and when united together with special people, special things can happen. From the deepest depths of my heart and soul I thank each of you. I would much prefer to do it on an individual basis, but I don't think anyone has that much time. In the words of my dear Gung, Susi has been my "conscripted commentator" Which she has, but because this message is so important to me to delivery to you all personally, I have pecked every little letter myself.
