ONE HIT WONDERS PART 5 – The Late 1970’s (1975 – 1979)

The Bottom Line :One Hit Wonders are artists that had only one U.S. Top 40 POP single. This trivia quiz is the continuation of a series of Quiz’s covering different era’s/ years.

A "One Hit Wonder" would be any artist that had only one hit on the Pop or Rock singles charts in the U.S. reach the Top 40. They either never had another single reach the Top 40 in those categories in the US, or they never released another single at all. Some of the artists during this series may have had one of more singles in the R & B or Country categories also reach the Top 40 there. They may have had a local or regional hit or two or had one or more Major hits in another country such as the UK. Part 4 of this quiz series deals with the late years of 1970’s (1975 – 1979) only. If you are too young or never had much of a chance to listen to music during this Era then some or most of these songs will not be familiar to you? I will provide the name of the song and the year it hit its peak in the Top 40. This may help a little to identify some songs as they may have been covered and a hit as well for more than one artist at another time?

PLEASE TRY TO REMEMBER THIS ONE THING. THIS TRIVIA QUIZ IS FOR FUN AND I HOPE WILL BRING BACK SOME FOND MEMORIES OF GREAT DAYS YOU HAD FROM THE PAST? SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO IT’S TIME TO “ROCK ON DUDES!”

In this group I only owned 22 of the songs listed above at one time on single but I do have the remaining songs on many different Various Artists Compilation Greatest Hits CD’s. I am very familiar with all these songs and many more from the 70’s. I have been compiling this list of “One Hit Wonders” for a very long time. I did however had to do some research on the years of release and their peak charting singles position so I wouldn’t be trying to pull from my 52 Year old memory.

My favorite songs from this list are “FEELINGS”, “CARS”, “MAGNET & STEEL”, “CHEVY VAN”, “THE HUSTLE”, “POP MUZIK”, “RING MY BELL” and “MUSIC BOX DANCER”. Maybe you could tell me some of your favorite songs from this list? I hope this “Trivia Quiz” brought back some great old Memories of some good times you had from years gone by? Part 6 will be covering the 1980’s so you will have yet another chance to redeem yourself once again if you scored low today? Thanks ever so much for dropping by and raking your memory cells today.
