I enjoyed reading this, and feel inspired to write something similar. Just this morning I was thinking about many career explorations that I have taken, and nuggets of good from each.
Thanks~~~

I am doing great!
There's nothing to admire, and nothing amazing about any of it--what you quickly realize in these situations is that we humans are incredibly resilient and really can 'handle' whatever comes our way. You just do what you've gotta do. Funny how life works that way.
And the cool thing about one's view is that the world tends to refine it for you. I think we all refine it as we age, through observation of the world around us. It's just that we all observe things from such radically different perspectives; some people's brain tend to appear frozen shut but really they're just seeing things from the arctic.
Okay, so my imagery could use a little work.

If I had to go through the same experience -- the loss of my husband -- at the age of 27, I don't know that I would have had the same composure and maturity as you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on life during that difficult time seven years ago.

You're my hero... (Reply to this comment)

To see the perspective and hopefulness you maintained in a situation which would (understandably) destroy many people is so inspiring.
You remained able and (much more extraordinarily) willing to continue to examine and refine your worldview after the age where most people's brains have frozen tight into one comfortable mode of thought. It's people like you that help me maintain my tenuous hopes for the future of humanity.
I shall plagiarize your child again:
You Rock!
