To My Golden-Haired Boy

The Bottom Line A tribute to my little boy on the occasion of my 100th review.

Author's Note: For my 100th review, I decided to step into the Writer's Corner in order to pay tribute to the person who brought me to this site in the first place: my son. It was while looking for baby products for him two years ago that I stumbled on Epinions, and 100 reviews later I'm still here. Thank you very much to all who have taken the time to read, rate, comment, and even trust me in the time that I've been a member here.

To My Golden-Haired Boy

I watch you sleep peacefully
Breathing in and out
Features a perfect mix of baby and little boy
More beautiful than I ever could have imagined.
How did I get so lucky?

Your smile wide and joyful
Your giggle warm and contagious
Even your crying a sound that draws me to you.
A person where there was none before.
How did I get so lucky?

Before my eyes you are growing
As time races ahead
I try to clutch each moment,
To etch it into my memory.
How did I get so lucky?

I stroke your cheek while you sleep
Hoping your dreams are pleasant
Saying my own prayer as I drift to sleep,
That I may have another day with you.
How did I get so lucky?
