Never read it before... thanks for introducing it to me.

I think America should kill two birds with one stone and have a BLACK WOMAN for President... That would be some day, no?

I agree w/ carletta, especially on the "Ego Trippin" thing too. It always upsets me that I can't find time to read more of her work. Thanks for the GREAT entry!

next to Nikki Giovanni's Ego Trippin' - Phenonenal Woman is one of my favorite poems of all times. Angelou's genius is definitely underrated and years from now it'll dawn on folks just how brilliant she was. Thanks for contributing.

Maya Angelou is one of my favorites and I considered reviewing one of her books or poetry collections for this writeoff. You did her far more justice than I could have!
