Ann, Jo, and Lisa,

So glad you stopped by! Hope you don't mind this combined "thank you". My son is bugging me to make choco-chip cookies with him today (that should be interesting one-handed) so I'm conserving my "good" hand. :)

Thanks for reading

Thank you for making the extra effort to get this excellent W/O entry in, in spite of the injury to your hand. I hope your fracture heals soon!

Lol, will likely do more reading than writing the next few weeks.....just remember you guys are gonna owe me! :-)

Easier to click than type at the moment, but I'm managing. My Spellcheck went on strike---does not compute---data overload. Just kidding.

Glad you enjoyed the piece.

You're very welcome and thank you for the compliment! It is atrocious that in this day and time African-American inventors are so under represented. In the history book I mentioned there was a section on slavery, a paragraph each on George Washington Carver, Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad. That's it! Almost exactly the same as mine twenty-five years earlier. When I asked the teacher about it, she seemed shocked that I asked (we're a caucasian family), but then replied "We'll do a special section on that in February."

My first thought? How very white of you.

Thanks for reading.

It seems as if that dog ate pages out of my history books too. I very much appreciate the information.

Great job.
