Lunarpages has carved a web-niche for itself as a for-the-masses hack-fodder service. Professional developers, and/or those who care about uptime and quality, need not apply. They have no server for you.

Regrettable experiences with them include taking down an entire website due to a mere *reference* to a script (which was not installed on the site at all, in any form), changed account passwords without notification citing "brute force attacks" on their servers, and database error notifications and down server time frequent (which they also wash away with lame "we were hacked again" explanations).

In the scripting instance, not even an apology was forthcoming once they realized their error - and that account was on a $400.00 per year plan.

Databases hosted with them emit continuous errors, and they have no ability to explain or correct the problem.

The one professional site I recommended (early on) host with them has been a source of embarrassment and a smudge on our professional record.

I found them to be an unreliable, incompetent, unprofessional service. But if you're looking for cheap, they'll give you that on the basic - and you'll get exactly what you pay for.
