I disagree...

Nintendo is more or less in it's own category. It's PS2 and XBox that are really battling it out. You own a Nintendo for the 1st party stuff you cant get anywhere else. You own a PS2 because it has a wide library. You own an XBox if you like wasting money on a useless console. I can't stand when people compare Cube against PS2 and XBox - it's a generic, and thoughtless argument because they are so different despite their similarities in the console race. Do you agree?

With all this online business going on, I'm scared. Look, all I want is a game that is excellent without having to be online. Even Gran Turismo 4 will definitely be online compatable when that comes to the U.S. in 2004.

Playstation 3 will be online based when that appears in 2005. I want it, but it seems as if all the gaming companies want MONEY MONEY MONEY! Pay for an adapter, pay per month for an online game, pay $5 extra for it to be usable online.

Hey, I love video games. I don't want to get high-tech either. What happened to the classic "1 Player against CPU"? I hope Sony and Microsoft have their fun, because I don't want to be part of it.

Good Job Nintendo! If they really are afraid of online business, great. At least there is some people who want to be just games only.

I hope you and others have fun with your online games. I still have some hope that I may get an adapter for the PS2. It may be a blast to play online. Heck, I'll probably enjoy it! All I need to do now is wait until the Adapter lowers in price over time and I'll try it someday. I ain't biting my tongue over it, though.

I see that you are a big online gamer, so GC isn't really gonna please you all that much. Online gaming on the GC would kick the cheekies off Sony and MS if they took it seriously. The gaming possibilities on GC are top-notch, but I don't think we can expect Nintendo to go online. They might bring some titles, but as for the fun-overall quality of those products...I shan't hold my breath. I'm happy to know that you, as well as Pav prefer the GC overall, because I was kinda starting to feel left out. Like I've said before, it's anyone taste and preference, and none of the current consoles are gonna get killed by the others...time will kill them. Cheers

can some of these games honestly run satisfactorily on a dial-up connection? I haven't seen dialup in a console game before, but it's horrendous on a PC.

btw rocky, seems like you busted a couple of arteries with that second paragraph there. ;)

while I never intend on using my PS2 online, I like to see these comparisons. I especially enjoy the cricket sounds. Poor little Gamecube. :)

Nice job.

Yea man, I think that Microsoft screwed a lot of people over if they were ever interested in going online. But about a Pokemon Stadium type game being online, if Nintendo starts to show some more interest, I'm sure that it'd be their flagship online title.

That would be great, if not only the stadium type game was online, but also the RPG portion, so you could like create gyms, leagues, tournaments, etc., sort of like an Everquest type game, only much MUCH better...man, the possibilities are endless. ::drool::

xbox broadband only (Reply to this comment)

Another reason I am not getting an Xbox. My rural area dosen't have broadband and DSL costs an arm and a leg. Not that I am intrested in playing online, although if Gamecube does go online with a pokemon stadium type game that would be something. being able to trade with anybody online and battle is something that would seem to fit the Pokemon franchise.
