The Bottom Line The Crisp one started all this madness and mayhem..blame him!
Brought to you by the letter A:
About a Boy -
http://www.epinions.com/content_87475981956 (tons of great reviews, I'm going with mfunk75 on this one)
..one of those romantic comedies that needs not follow the rules of the genre, and becomes better for it. It's not about the coupling of man and woman, but the need for a system of relationships. One that you (or I, or Will, or Marcus) can care for, and watch grow, and shelter you in your times of need. A fine, funny film.
About Schmidt -
http://www.epinions.com/content_83661721220 (review by that Fiendburger guy) *grin*
Warren Schmidt is a man at the end of his rope. Once he dreamed of starting a business of his own, but instead he spent 32 years at the Woodmen Insurance Group only get politely retired by a young graduate from Drake. His retirement party is a happy affair, but the centerpiece is still a towering gray cake, a scale model of the Woodmen building. Stars Jack Nicholson.
Abrahams, Jim -
Director and writer of such high-flying comedy films as Airplane!, Police Squad, Hot Shots!, and the sequel, Hot Shots! Part Deux. He also wrote Kentucky Fried Movie.
Academy Award, The
(Oscar) is the main national film award in the USA. The Oscar depicts a knight, holding a crusader's sword, standing on a reel of film. The film reel features five spokes, signifying the five original branches of the Academy (actors, directors, producers, technicians and writers.) Supposedly given out annually to the best of the best, but saddly influenced by moolah.
Addy, Mark -
Brilliant actor of many memorable roles including A Knight's Tale (Got ya Marc!! Neener Neener!!) as the irrepressable Roland, Sir William's Squire. Addy can also be found in The Full Monty, The Time Machine(2002), Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas and Down to Earth.
Review of A Knight's Tale http://www.epinions.com/content_76087266948
AFI -
American Film Institute: Advancing and preserving the art of the moving image. AFI has done many things, but what I know them best for is their Top 100 Films list. I do not always agree with them, but it's a great list to use as a viewing guide.
Affleck, Ben -
Ya love him or ya hate him...but with 47 roles since 1981, ya can't ignore him! Among them are such memorables as Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Good Will Hunting (which he also wrote), Shakespeare in Love, Dogma, Reindeer Games, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Sum of All Fears and Daredevil.
African Queen, The -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-20C1-11200BB0-38BD24BD-prod7 (Review by George_Chabot)
Bogart and Hepburn star in this film which details the voyage of The African Queen down the uncharted river to its source in Lake Victoria.
Air Force One -
http://www.epinions.com/content_7320145540 (Review by Lynus)
Hijackers seize the plane carrying the President of the United States and his family, but he (an ex-soldier) works from hiding to defeat them. One of my favorite Harrison Ford roles.

Aladdin -
http://www.epinions.com/content_70619795076 (Review by Cripper)
This 1992 Disney animated film is currently listed as the 37th Top Grossing movie of all time. Pretty amazing for an animated film.

This star, writer, consultant and Director of the MASH TV series also starred in California Suite, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Smae Time Next Year, What Women Want and Paper Lion.
Alien -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-D6A-42CE8B2-395420C7-prod1 (Review by scott29)
Who will ever forget Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien? I actually went to see this one alone, at the drive inn..pretty crazy! Sigourney Weaver plays Ripley, who is trapped on a space ship with an evil Alien... that keeps changing. Boy was that scary!
All About Eve -
http://www.epinions.com/content_14823231108#ow (Review by Ynmaeven)
She is a young actress, full of ambition and with stars in her eyes. She becomes Margo Channing's secretary-aide and slowly, but surely, starts to take over Margo's life. She worms her way into Margo's friend's lives and begins to sabotage her career as well.
All Quiet On The Western Front -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-701B-5F342C2-38D7D7C4-prod1#ow (Review by George_Chabot)
The story of Paul Baumer, well played by Lew Ayres, a schoolboy who, driven by his bombastically patriotic teacher, enthusiastically joins the Kaiser's army with thousands of other young men.
American Beauty -
http://www.epinions.com/content_40941358724 (Review by our host, the one, the only, the potty-mouthed Simply_Crispy) *grin*
A very controversial film from 1999. This film was pulled from Blockbuster's shelves at one point and could only be rented if you asked for it specifically...which of course added to it's popularity. Stars Kevin Spacey, Annette Bening, Thora Birch, Mena Suvari, Peter Gallagher, and Scott Bakula.
American Graffiti -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-DFE-BA18590-3808EB29-bd1 (Review by BrianKoller)
If you were around when this came out in 1973, then you saw it, or you lived in a cave. heh. A wonderful night in the lives of some teens circa the 1950s. These are early roles for Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, and Bo Hopkins. OH, that chick in the corvette? That's Susanne Summers.
Amadeus -
http://www.epinions.com/content_49263906436#ow (Review by artbyjude)
This movie, winner of 8 Academy Awards, all of them deserved, shows the "Pop" side of our man Wolgang Amadeus Mozart. For my money, Hulce deserved an Oscar too. But, nobody asked me. The movie, based on the stage play by Peter Shaffer may be thought to be grossly historically inaccurate. It was probably truer than we think.
American Werewolf in London -
http://www.epinions.com/content_68517006980 (Review by d_fienberg)
The eponymous American werewolf in London certainly takes his time in arriving. A British werewolf in the North of England makes a brief appearance early on, but otherwise, you're going to wait for a while in John Landis's American Werewolf in London before things really get going. Fortunately, there's enough good-natured gore and viscera to make the first hour of the film appealing enough before the arrival of the titular villain kicks the film into overdrive for its final act.
An American In Paris -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-487C-610763A-37E59F09-bd4 (Review by BrianKoller)
It is a
love story that thinly winds its way through
numerous lengthy production numbers. An ex-GI
painter (Gene Kelly) is living (and struggling)
in Paris. A wealthy socialite (Nina Foch)
promotes his career, but seems more interested in
his body. Kelly falls for chipmunk-cheeked Leslie
Caron, who is engaged to stage performer Georges
Guetary. Unemployed pianist Oscar Levant is the
laconic mutual friend of Kelly and Guetary.
Analyze This -
http://www.epinions.com/content_83669913220 (Review by jeff_wilder78)
The comedic tale of a mob boss who gets a shrink. Delightful vehicle for Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro. You will notice I decided not to include the sequel, Analyze That int this list. There's good reason: The sequel sucks.
Andrus, Mark -
Writer of such great stories and screenplays as Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, As Good As It Gets, Life as a House and Late For Dinner.
Animal House -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-4F35-E07B16A-398B5AFD-prod1#ow (Review by BrianKoller..who is sweeping the A list..)
1978 brought us this wonderfully raucous movie dealing with frat houses. A movie everyone remembers fondly. Starring John Belushi, Tom Hulce, and Kevin Bacon.
Annie Hall -
http://www.epinions.com/content_77672320644 (Review by lemon_lime)
Annie Hall is the quintessential Woody Allen film. Though he might have dismissed it himself at times, the public embraced this film more than any other he has ever released (with the possible exception of Hannah and Her Sisters), and it is certainly one of the most important films he has ever made
Apartment, The -
http://www.epinions.com/content_81051487876 (Review by artbyjude)
..the movie that heralded the sexual freedom of the sixties and seventies and gave the workplace a bad name, in terms of the way people act".
Apocalypse Now -
http://www.epinions.com/content_90835291780

Artbyjude -
http://www.epinions.com/user-artbyjude
Our very own Jude Paxton... movie reviewer extraordinaire, and twin soul of myself. Sometimes we think so much alike it scares me! She writes much better than I do though...
Armageddon -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-5F84-DF7DE97-38730B7B-prod2#ow (Review by mrbrown)
When an asteroid the size of Texas is headed for Earth the world's best deep core drilling team is sent to nuke the rock from the inside. Stars Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bruce Willis. Currently 46th on the list of highest grossing movies.
Army of Darkness -
http://www.epinions.com/content_79892876932
Poor Ash from Evil Dead fame is transported back to the middle ages. Bruce Campbell at his best!
Arthur (1981) -
http://www.epinions.com/content_59909443204#ow(review by Bruguru) Who didn't adore that cuddly little spoiled rich brat alcoholic played by Dudley Moore? Also starred Liza Minnelli and John Gielgud. (This is listed as title: 1001240, in case anyone wants to write a review of it... toooo funny!)
Arthur's Quest -
http://www.epinions.com/content_80554724996http
Ok, not a 5 star movie by any means..but a fun and different take on the tale of King Arthur and Merlin. Besides, it was written by Gregory Poppin, so how could I leave it off this list?
As Good As It Gets -
http://www.epinions.com/mvie-review-539-16879560-39024510-prod2 (Review by susidee34)
A wonderful vehicle for Jack Nicholson as an obsessive/compulsive curmudgeonly kinda guy who forms some very unlikely relationships with a waitress (Helen Hunt) and a gay neighbor (Greg Kinnear).
atchesonate -
http://www.epinions.com/user-atchesonate
Who also happens to fit the A list as Atcheson, Nate. Heh.. More extra credit! I'm the winner! Nate just won The Orson Welles Award for Best Newcomer, Period and therefore deserves his place in history on this list of memorable 'A' movie thingies.
Attack Of The Clones -
http://www.epinions.com/content_81747021444 (Review by Vormancian, who didn't like it near as much as I did..but he didn't like A Knight's Tale either..so what's HE know! *duck)
Star Wars Episode II: The bare bones plot has an assassination attempt on Princess Amidala (who is now Senator Amidala) lead to an investigation that reveals the creation of an army of clones.
Last but not least..... *grins wildly*
Attacks!, Mars -
http://www.epinions.com/content_93124005508
Quite possibly the funniest movie ever made having to do with an alien invasion of Earth. All star cast, Directed by Tim Burton. On a 5 star scale, this one gets 10!
This was a lot of work, but fun! If I've left out anything you think needs to be included, do leave a comment so I can add it to this.
Being that *I* am the alpha, the only logical preceding letter must be the Zed by ZuZidee
After me would be the Bodacious, Beautiful, artByjude
