Describe my shopping experience in one word: horrible.

Yes, the worst on-line shopping experience I have EVER had, and I've been an on-line shopper for 10 years! Where do I start? Ok, I was shopping for a Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV right after Christmas. I found this store recommended on Yahoo Shopping with 4 1/2 stars. I soon found out Yahoo Shopping rating system was terribly flawed. The following is a synopsis of the time-line and problems encountered.
Jan 2 placed on-line order for TV $1,388.00
Jan 3 received email saying to call 800 number to verify order
Jan 3 called, salesman said price quoted was after $200 rebate, also sold me Mack extended warranty, HDMI cable, + shipping = $1912.00 (would get 200 back on rebate)
Jan 4 check website, no on-line update on order
Jan 8 finally web shows updated order, but not shipped
Jan 9 called 800 number to check on status they said it had shipped, but no shipping reference on-line. Wait until tomorrow for the website to update. Talked to customer service, they checked with warehouse for ship. Ref., but could not give me a number.
Jan 10 order updated, shows DHL ship number, funny though, TV is heavy, needs to ship truck, oh well its coming, & its my birthday, so this is a nice present.
Jan 12 track package on-line, its out for delivery! Cool, wait at home for DHL, they show up at noon with an envelope; the cable & warranty no tv (of course).
Jan 12 called 800 number, still says TV shipped but cant give me a tracking number on the TV.
Jan 13 on-line order references another tracking number for a company called ServiceByAir. Went to their web-site, no record of tracking number in their system.
Jan 15 checked ServiceByAir online tracking, still no record. Called ServiceByAir, after 3 calls, they were very accommodating, but had no info.
Jan 16 called PCVideoOnline, they verified its shipped, I need to call shipper. I threatened to cancel credit card and refuse shipment if it ever arrived; Ask to talk to manager, but he was not in and they would not take a message.
Jan 17 called ServiceByAir again, they gave me their office number in Philli to call. When I called, a very helpful man said he did not have a record of that shipment, but they were picking up a load of TVs at the distributor that afternoon, to call back after 4:30 PM. I called back & they had my TV! He also said he gets lots of these calls from customers looking for shipments from PCVideoOnline
Jan 19 I have TV Its very cool! - Great job ServiceByAir - from Philli to my door in Rhode Island in 2 days!
Jan 20 start to register extended warranty, notice I do not have an invoice.
Jan 22 call store and request invoice and rebate info. They will fax me both documents right away
Jan 23 received invoice by fax, no info on rebate
Jan 23 called about rebate they will check nothing
Jan 24 called, want to talk to manager about rebate not in.
Jan 24 emailed manager about rebate, noticed when you click manager@pcvideoonline.com it actually goes to sales@pcvideoonline.com.
Jan 25-30 try to register 3 year extended warranty on-line as directed, but its already registered. Several calls to Mackcam to straighten out the warranty thing, I think Im ok with that now, just a big waste of time & money.
Looks like Im out the $200.00 rebate, but Ive got a TV, cable, extended warranty, (and a month of frustration no extra charge). Could have bought it locally for a few bucks more, and a lot less hassle and wasted time.
Bottom line they dont have a warehouse; they have nothing in stock; they get your money then order the product and have it drop shipped from the distributor; you will wait at least 2 3 weeks & they will lie to you every time you call.
