For me... (Reply to this comment)

...this would have been more like #20-#1 and your #20-#1 would've been more like my #40-#20. Great post, between the two you nailed the top 40 pretty well.

i have never seen something miss the boat quite like that. im not one to criticize ones opinion, but yours is crap. im guessing you have very little friends. i feel depressed having looked through your list and i will never get that 10 min of my life back. they should put a disclaimer on your post that reads ***warning*** dont read unless you have horrible taste and absolutely no time on your hands.

On The Doors (Reply to this comment)

Go buy a lenght of nylon chord and hang yourself with it! It seems one cannot use 'forcefull' words in this site so i'll have to refrain from expressing my true emotions! You think only five or six songs from the doors are likable? Man you should pray every night that we don't cross our paths! You enlist Elvis and Elton john and leave out Stairway to heaven? you should be publicly hanged drawn and quartered!

Bad :)))
Pride :)))
Under the bridge :))))
Dream on :))
One :((( or maybe I simply don't get it )
The rest was fun too. Can't wait for the ultimate 20. Btw, are you planning to include something from the early Genesis? Like 'Supper's Ready' - it's 24 minutes of course, but at its length it (in my epinion) still remains one of the best rock songs ever written. :) Hope dies last.. And then there also was that amazing 'Dancing with the moonlit knight' - the guitar part alone was awesome. What about 'Nothing really matters' and Ozzie's 'My Little man' - two absolutely astonishing ballads? And 'Princes of the Universe' from the Queen?
But, but, but, don't pay much attention to this
Because it's a great job nonetheless - you're still one of my fave writers! Simply keep it up :)

Definitely, One of my fave Van Halen songs, ever. And Kudos for putting "Hurt" in the list. I saw the video from Johnny Cash. Excellent video and his version of the song is brilliant but not as good as the original but I just hope the song gets some attention for both Cash and Trent Reznor. It's a masterpiece.
