My brother is going through replacing all of his bulbs with these also because of the how much they are supposed to save. They are expensive but should be worth it in the end.

I replaced all my standard bulbs (Reply to this comment)

with these type thanks to a special promotion that PG&E (our utility) coordinated with the grocery stores. I got a 4 pack for $1!! Yes, you read that right. One dollar! It was unbelievable. Wasn't GE brand but seems to work fine.
