Over the years, I've explored mineral cosmetics from many small companies. I always come back to Aromaleigh, for many reasons.
Through thick and thin, Aromaleigh is the company that makes the necessary changes to stay afloat and competetive in the very competetive mineral cosmetics industry. Aromaleigh and it's creator, Kristen, are in tune with the needs of the customer and this is reflected in the products, the website and the amazing special offers and promotions consistently offered by the company.
The website was recently redesigned and is easier than ever to navigate. Color swatches are pretty accurate and are accompanied by written color descriptions whereever possible. Samples are availble at a low cost so that you can be absolutely sure of a color before making a full size purchase. If those three things aren't enough, you can go on the company online forum and talk toother customers who might use the color and get advice. This all makes buying color products really foolproof.
Shipping options and pricing is great. US mail or UPS is offered. US mail is my personal favorite. My obvious reason is that if I am buying just samples, it is free. And if my order is $50 or more, it is also free. Aromaleigh ships orders very fast. Sometimes when I order, I get my shipping notification the next day. With US Mail, I usually get my order in three days. I could not be happier about this. US mail has never lost an order. UPS, on the other hand, has. UPS is also more expensive and takes longer.
Aromaleigh has weekly sales on products that change every Saturday morning. These sales are quite generous (ranging from 25-35% off and an occasional 50% off item I have seen as well) and there are usually around ten items on sale. In addition to these weekly sale items, Aromaleigh also has a coupons and deals page. Right now, this page offers anew customer coupon, a free eyeshadow coupon, a free lipstick coupon, and a 10% off a large order ($150) coupon. Aromaleigh definitely has lots of deals for just about any order size.
I've found the products to be very high quality and of comparable quality to major mineral cosmetic brands such as Bare Escentuals and Jane Iredale, that I previously used before starting to use the products from small woman-owned companies that I learned about on beauty forums that I frequented. Many of these smaller companies are making wonderful products that compare and even outperform these cosmetic giants. Aromaleigh is one of them, in my opinion. And they do this at a fraction of the cost, because they do not wholesale their products or spend a great deal of money on advertising or fancy packaging.
My favorite products are the eyeshadows and the foundation. Aromaleigh is well-known for both of these. Why? Because they have almost 300 eyeshadow colors- more than anymineral makeup line that I've used. They have some of the most unusual colors out there, including their alternative mineral makeup line called 'Rocks Sonic Cosmetics". The foundation is my favorite because it comes in extremely pale shades- something that is hard to find in most lines. Aromaleigh has a shade that is actually pure white. I add this shade to other colors to lighten them enough for me to wear.
I have not had a serious customer service issue. Any emails I have had about questions for products were answered quickly and professionally. An incorrect item sent with an order (wrong eyeshadow color sent) was replaced with the correct color right away and I did not have to send the wrong color back. Amy graciously told me to just keep it and/or give it to a friend if the color did not work for me. So I have had good customer service, in my opinion.
I definitely recommend Aromaleigh and will continue to shop with them and tell my friends aboutthem.
