Pros: Very easy to use, non-intimidating cookbook for the beginner.
Cons: I just don't get cake mixes.

While I appreciate your ingenuity, epinions still has its own audience and advisors are going to rate you based on that audience. Reviews that are rated low are not shown to the public at all, so hits from your website or Google would turn up 0 reviews or a review that won't actually show.
I encourage you to keep it personal on your website or on the writer's corner here at epinions, but the reviews need to be less about your relationship with your mother and more about the book itself. Again, I do think you need to disclose the relationship (and do), but focusing on it distracts consumers who are looking for an unbiased take on whether or not these books are worth their cash.

Glad you enjoyed the review!
I'm getting the impression that a few (not you) think these are self-published and that I am pushing them for Mom. So, I am adding in the publishers names.
I mention in the comments on the Avocado review that I feel most of my hits are actually generated out of my own websites, so I feel a need to write for my established readership. But I'm going to try and get others to review the books as well so there will be a good balance that way. If I suddenly take a more objective less personal voice when writing about my Mom's stuff, my regular readers will think there is something wrong.
Yeah - there was something of bug - I did a Google on Mom's most recent book and several came up here. That's when I realized I'd never reviewed them.

Actually, a fun review. Yet 'informatively helpful'.
I see from your user-page that you must have gotten a 'wild hair' to review more of these Duncann books. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do I guess. And quite the spread of rates on them. Interesting.
Anyway . . .very nicely done.

VH- but you do include a lot of information that has nothing to do about the book. You may, in the future, want to concentrate more on just the book and your thoughts pertaining to it.
