I never use such candid, straight-out titles for anything.... but this time there is no other way to convey my disgust with a product or service. Never have I encountered any service who uses such unethical business practices (unless, of course, the company was fraudulent). Their "Join Now and Win $10,000" scheme seems absolutely perfect.... until you see that, every single time you try to sign in, they've pre-checked all radio buttons with Yes. Want to know why? If you don't go through and uncheck each circle, every-single darn time you log in, you'll be bombarded with a high-level of email that is *just* this side of being legal. Basically, they're toeing the fine-line of SPAM.
The jobs posted can be found on Monster.com, HotJobs, and even FlipDog. Why in the world would they think that one would be silly enough to enjoy deselecting the "options" each time they attempt to search jobs? They are already making a killing on job postings (being paid by the employers), so why do they insist upon selling our email addresses? Oh, I see.... that's how we're eligible for the $10K. Well, gee, now I feel like just posting my phone number in the bathroom at a truck stop and say, "Call me and annoy me anytime, but at least tell me you may send me some money, but probably not."
Well, I gotta' go. I have to make it to the bathroom before the next guy goes in.
TAKE MY FINAL ADVICE: Don't bother signing up with JobsOnline, because I've never found employment through them, nor any signs of changing their current practices. If you're already a member - or insist upon joining - just remember that you have to uncheck the circles when you go. Be careful, and use your best judgement.
