The Bottom Line Sensitive skin doesn't have to suffer.
I have tried tonnes of products, and because of that, I kind of feel the need to share my thoughts, or should I say opinions about them with you. From magazine-recommended ones to dermatologist-recommended ones, here they are. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- Okay -The consistency is extremely soft and gentle... perfect for the ones who don't wear any makeup. Why? Because the product does not remove all makeup. Don't count on it to take off your waterproof mascara, liner, or thick layer of foundation. L'oréal Pure Zone Unclogging Scrub Cleanser- Excellent -If you have a few blemishes, use this formula. It cools your face and won't make it sting unlike other pimple treatments. You just can't put it in your eyes. L'oréal Plenitude Hydra Fresh Foaming Face Wash for Normal to Dry Skin- Yahoo! -Takes off makeup and won't burn skin at all. Plus it moisturizes. Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser- The name speaks the truth -This cleanser is gentle and removes makeup pretty well. The substance is just right. I don't suggest that you use it to gob off a face full of waterproof eye makeup, though. Ahava Dead Sea Mineral Glycerine Soap for Extremely Dry Skin- Fabulous -Its concentrate is so gentle and your skin is so soft after. (at Sephora) Pond's Cold Cream - Ahhhh! :) -It warms up your skin and soothes it. Plus the extra extra creamy texture feels good when you have sensitive skin. Try removing it with a damp soft washcloth. It goes a lot better. Revlon Vitamin C Absolutes Reviving Cleanser- Oooo! -It really refreshes my skin and takes off all my makeup. I love gel cleansers, and this one is one of my faves. Urban Decay Zen Cleanse - Miracle wash! -Feels like it was made for me. It's a gel-like formula, and it really refreshes my skin. I use it everyday. (at Sephora) It's worth the bucks. Sephora Cleansing Gel for Face and Eyes- Good - I have a weakness for any gel-like substance. I think gel cleansers are really good at soothing skin and making it feel fresh. This one makes you feel extra clean and makes your skin glow after. Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths for Sensitive Skin- Try It and See -I cut the cloths in half since they are big and you don't get a lot for the price. These feel so soft when wet... in fact all cleansing cloths feel really good on irritated skin, just don't over-rub. Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin- Makes Me Smile -I like the foaming kinds, especially this one. It is very gentle and comforting. Once a Month: Because you have sensitive skin, it is not good to scrub 2-3 times a week. Once or twice a month is good, and if you feel you can handle more, go on... but don't scrub more than twice a week or your skin will burn. Try St.Ives Apricot Scrub. If you are using acne treatments that are prescribed by a doctor, go for Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, that won't dry out your skin. Oh and since you can feel a burning sensation when slathering on moisturizer... go for Herbal Essences Oil-Free Moisturizer. That one won't burn. Try a lotion that doesn't feel oily, and feels fresh. |
