I don't think much of Coldplay... (Reply to this comment)

but I think that you put across a point that they put on a good live show.
Nice review

Coldplay Isn't All Yellow (Reply to this comment)
by jlr29
I disagree with Chris Martin about "Yellow" being the band's only hit. I thought "Trouble" and "In My Place" were really big songs for them also. In my book, the contest for the best album of 2002 is between "A Rush of Blood to the Head" and "The Rising" by Bruce Springsteen. Good work, it made me regret that I haven't seen the band live yet.

I have trouble believing you've never even heard of The Osbournes or American Idol. Were you joking? Interesting...
And to Updateghost - I thought (obviously) that A Rush Of Blood To The Head was the best album of 2002. I think the band is at the top of their game. It's always good to have a healthy bit of disagreement though. As far as being political idiots however, "that's just like, your opinion man..." (to quote The Big Lebowski)

Coldplay... political idiots who should keep their mouths shut, and presently bad songwriters.
Good review, though.

Hey Eli,
great review, as usual. I thought that this one was particularly well constructed and well written.
My daughter got us tickets for "The Boss" on April 9, at ARCO in Sac. That'll make a nice trifecta of Prine, Dylan and Bruce in the last year, way up here in Baum Fuque Idaho. Stay well.

Nice Review (Reply to this comment)

I saw Coldplay here in L.A. late last year, and they put on a great show. I liked how they took tunes from Parachutes and galvanized them a bit to sound more like rock tunes. Unfortunately, I had to endure a bland opening act, it was the band Ash. You got to see Ron Sexsmith, so that's two good acts in one night!
